I didn't want to be a medicine cat. I had too. My father, Greywind, was murdered by the old leader, Dirtstar, when he found out he was the one who murdered the old leader, Ashstar. My mother, Daisytail, was feed death berries in mistake of normal berries. My sister, Goldenheart, fell down the gorge, trying to catch a vole. She died a long, painful death, telling my family her thanks and hopes and wishes. I was trying to catch a stupid rabbit for my stupid mate! My kit's father. My kit. Snowkit. Snowkit, my only she-cat kit, died of greencough. I could have saved them. I could have healed them. If I was a medicine cat. After Poppyseed, the medicine cat before me, expired, I became the medicine cat.  My mate, Runningfur, was vigorous. He tried to kill me by the Thunderpath. I had to kill him first. I dedicted my whole life to helping other cats. The only thing I regret is my kit's death. I will never accept myself.
