Chapter 4.

Beaten By a Butterfly

Deep breathes. Think calmly. Don't hesitate. Just wait for the right moment, I'll get the chance. While listening in on her own thoughts Lotil had been sitting atop the Willow tree concentrating on a plan to invade the Butterfly Castle but with the forcefield up, it seemed highly impossible but there was one way she could sneak in if she just had some dimensional scissors there might be a chance of sneaking in undetected though where to find a pair? Lotil, placed a claw under her chin in a thinking position her tail swaying in the wind her wings twitching uneasily.
"Now I heard I could get my own dimensional scissors but of course the being who created them is a member of the High Commission so I don't see that happening maybe if I stole a pair from a local monster or someone with a pair of scissors like that, it make my job easier" Lotil grinned at the thought before coming up into a standing position unfurling her wings "Huh, doesn't sound to bad actually, haha well than no time to waste. I have some scissors to take."
Lifting off the tree branch she had previously sat on bolted herself into the air and looked below for anyone near by. Her eyes scanned endlessly for someone or something, it took more than 2 hours but still no creature in sight, right before she planned to move on a slight movement below alarmed Lotil, turning her head down directly where the figure was she could make out what looked like an odd looking monster with an actual pair of dimensional scissors in his hand. Excited Lotil came flying down at the monster but stopped herself and landed in a tree watching him. The monster was oddly shaped, his teeth exposed from his bottom jaw, he had only one big yellow eye, thick brown fur surrounding his body, and weird long arms that stuck out of his fur with his right hand holding the scissors that Lotil had been looking for.

Clawing the tree with impatience she saw the monster place the scissors into his fur coat and slowly make his move past Lotil unaware of her presence. Lotil being as stealthy as she could took hold of her spear tightly gripping the staffly weapon, followed the beastly monster high above in the trees each movement made was precise bounding from tree to tree stalking the target waiting for the right moment the furry monster stopped in his tracks feeling aware now he was being followed looked around frantically. Lotil taking the chance pounced from the tree that faced the monster's back had quickly turned around seeing the lizard wolf  come at him tried dodging but to late the hybrid beast struck him through his side: Lotil had impaled the victim using the one ended side of the spear waiting for his struggling to settle down greyish blood grew around the dead beast his motions no longer moving proved he had passed. Being the Victor of the killing, Lotil removed her staff the end now dripping with grey ooze, she took the dead creature's dimensional scissors designed to look bleak holding orange highlights across the hand held handles and a black covering  underneath them turning it over to find his name perfectly carved in the blades. "So your name was Fuzzball, how cute. You know I don't believe these scissors will be of use to you anymore my friend, too bad I guess I bet you had fun using them" Lotil placed a foot atop the dead Fuzzball with a smug look "Though, now I'm gonna have even more fun with them" she laughed placing the scissors into a side pocket and flying away leaving the body behind.

With newly stolen dimensional scissors in hand it was time to continue with her plan. Lotil took out the scissors and stared down at them for a good long minute "This is it Lotil, the time for revenge is nigh. You've worked, you've trained, and you've fought for this moment ever since that day now it's time I'll take down that wretched Queen for myself! For my mother! And for the rights of all monster kind! May Mewni pay for everything they've ever done to my kind and in the end I'll fight for what I believe in."
With such words spoken, Lotil took a deep breathe opened up the two blades of the scissors and cut a large portal in front of her opening up into a large vortex of blueish colors the hybrid was hesitant to step inside. Fear and nervousness clutched onto her but dragged the feeling back and stepped inside one foot after the other, expecting to find herself in a different area looked around carefully once reaching the other side she was in a large room the lights were out but the monster could easily see where she was. Taking it nice and quiet, the portal had closed behind her once stepping out of it Lotil silently snuck around peeked through the doorway of the room and saw a couple Mewman guards had shut the door immediately "Oh darn it. Those guards are in the way, if only I had some diversion or disguise?" Thinking of what to do, something shiny caught the lizard wolf's attention, over in the closest area was a wardrobe of clothing, some really poofy dresses, and one looking to be a large cloak.

Lotil smiled getting an idea, grabbing the cloak she placed it over herself which covered most of her body and half her head but her face still shown. "The cloak fits, now I just need to hide my face" letting her eyes guide her the shiny thing she saw before made her look over to the closest again, walking over to it the female monster found a mask covered in what was like small pearls across it, tilting her head curiously placed the mask over her face which fit just right. Going to a mirror to look herself over Lotil had a satisfied grin nodded "Perfect, hopefully this'll work if not than I'll just go for it."

Once again, feeling partly confident that her disguise could work opened the door slightly expecting some guards but noticed nobody was around. Confused Lotil stepped out of the room completely looking down the hallway to her left and to her right "Now where did they all go?" Scratching the top of her head in question just shrugged it off "Well, whatever the reason at least it'll make my plan somewhat easier."
Staying aware of her surroundings, Lotil decided to take the left hallway peeking around the corner checking for any unsuspecting guards or fellow followers to the Queen kept all senses alert. For about 15 minutes she had walked down the hallway into one room and the next, getting more and more lost started getting on the hybrid's nerves.

"Gah! This is like an endless maze of royal nightmares. I really should have brought a map or something it be alot easier ergh I really hate Castles more than ever" muttering sourly to herself Lotil continued walking about the hallway getting making her more and more irritated everytime she ended up running in the wrong area was close to breaking something possibly anything priceless. The hybrid grew angry but before letting off steam hadn't paid attention to where she was going ran into the side wall of a large room fell backwards in slight pain "Ow, darn it! Stupid wall, stupid castle, stupid hallway maze" complaining aloud, Lotil sat up rubbing her aching head finally noticed where she was.

The room was beautifully decorated, streamers hanged alongside each of the ceiling walls while in front of her sat two thrones, one tall one medium perfectly sat beside each other while behind them was a portrait of a man, a women, and a young girl looking like a family. The pupils in the now joyful green eyes widened Lotil who discovered the throne room of the Butterfly king and queen, she walked over to the thrones scanning them individually sat herself in the King's throne first.
"Haha, look I'm the king now bring justice to this sweaty town of corn" laughing about enjoying herself leaped over to the Queen's throne sitting with her legs crossed tried imitating the queen "Oh bow down, bow down to you're beloved Queen of spiteful fanciness. Apparently I can't do things for myself so I acquire my servants to do my every bidding, oh no my hair is so messy I need a hair comber please it's getting drafted"
Lotil bursting into laughter fell backwards out of the Queen's throne "Whew! I'm having to much fun with this" without realizing the presence of somebody else in the room, Lotil stood up slowly perking her ears heard something move a foot from behind her turning around a blast of something white almost hitting the hybrid on the face was quickly avoided by making as much of a dodge as she could letting the unexpected blast hit one side of the wall.

Alarmed, Lotil looked back finding none other than the Queen herself standing a mere 5 feet from the intruding monster. Gave Lotil an angry look "Who are you? What are you doing here in my castle?" The queen demanded.

Lotil slightly amused chuckled "Well, it's good to finally be seeing you face to face my Queen" removing the mask and cloak, the lizard wolf revealed her identity shocking the white haired women.
"Your a monster! How'd you get past the shield?" Lotil didn't answer her, just took out the spear and prepared for fight.

"That's none of you're concern I'm afraid. I'm only here to do one thing and one thing only and that's to kill you." The Queen stood a distant from the now armed enemy she prepared herself.
"Fine than you wretched beast. Good luck trying to do that, I am Queen Moon The Undaunted and I won't allow you or any of your kind to harm my subjects. It is my duty to protect them at all cost, any monsters will be killed."

Lotil lifted her eyebrows standing her ground "Bring it Moony" she taunted, Moon tossed large amounts of magic at the hybrid who barely dodged the attacks.

Trying to get a close interact with the Queen, Lotil flew up and charged in attempting to use her staff against her. But underestimated Moon who transformed into a creature with purple skin, large wings, and four more sets of arms underneath her other arms dodged with ease, surprising Lotil who without thinking flew around after the Queen once again had white blast of magic thrown straight at her.
Lotil almost losing her balance felt something painful burn across the left backside of her body where the wing should be fell down hard against the floor landing with a sudden thud. Opening her eyes slightly looking over beside her laid the left half of her wing, lifted her aching body up staring horrifically at the dismembered limb that slowly faded into smoke. Lotil placed a hand in the place on her back where that former wing had been moved it away immediate pain searing through her body saw green blood leak from that spot turned her pained and angered gaze to The Queen who returned to her natural form look down at the injured hybrid.

"This is what happens to Monsters who challenge me. You'd best be leaving or I will kill you." Fear dug deep into the gut of Lotil she forcefully stood up holding her left backside grabbed the dimensional scissors, opened the portal, and disappeared letting it close behind her. No words were spoken that day, Lotil patched up her wound with a large leaf she found headed on her way home this time having to walk the whole way ignored the pain seeping down her back was hoping to have actual bandages at her home, though she may be able to heal these kinds of wounds Lotil knew it take about four days for it too heal. The only problem is, she is unable to grow the wing back.
Lotil stumbled a few times had only made it so far the blood on her back stopped dripping but the pain refused to settle. Deep breathing, the hybrid continued walking hoping her home was near by but moving some bushes out of her way to get a glimpse of what's behind it. With slightly shaking hands from losing bits of her energy after the battle against Queen Moon, Lotil found what looked like a black castle but not as big as the Mewni castle stepped out of the bushes stumbling a bit kept her best balance and decided to take a peak through one of the windows. Peaking her eyes ever so slightly checked to see if anyone was inside and sees there was. From what Lotil could see was a two headed red monster, both with horns apparently chatting with deer man monster thing with antlers and a beard, nothing she cared about snuck around the castle area wincing every so often feeling the stinging pain of the wound did her best not to alert any of the Monsters that lived in there stopped once finding a slightly opened window noticed a large frog monster who looked rather miserable or something with what looked like a really disfigured bird thing were sitting a distant away from the building.

Curious, Lotil peered over at them listening if they were saying anything the bird thing was first to speak: "So you're blaming me for this whole thing?" The little monster squawked angrily at the frog.

"Yes, mainly cause you treat me like yesterday's garbage. Toffee is tricky, I tried warning you but you did not listen" the monster frog spoke slightly annoyed at the smaller monster who growled in frustration.

"Well so what! He didn't seem like much of a bad guy to me. I admit I was foolish, but he had no right to take my castle or my monsters!" The little bird stamped his foot "But maybe if we team up. We could take him down, what do you say Buff Frog?"

The one referred to as Buff Frog stood back away from the other monster as if taken aback by the question. "No way will I ever team up with you, Ludo after all this. I don't see why I should trust you anymore" the frog croaked aloud.

Ludo grunted "Fine! Have it your way" the bird stomped away mumbling to himself leaving Buff Frog who sat back down on what looked like a pillar of some sort.

Lotil confused as too what had just happened, turned away from the two monsters and painfully climbed through the window. Struggled a few times slipping herself under the little slider door used to shut windows had landed flatly downwards the pain from before increasing slightly made her yelp but held her tongue to conceal it. Both ears on Lotil heard footsteps coming towards the door of the room she was in and looked around hesitantly for a place to hide spotted someplace, once the door had opened Lotil had hidden away in a high place right above the arrival of a very familiar monster she had once met before. Looking below her, gripping her claws and keeping the body well carefully wrapped around the chandelier she had settled on saw Toffee who was suspiciously looking around the room that appeared to be an office with a brown wooden desk and wheely chair while two bookshelves stood side by side to each other.

Lotil was right above Toffee. Keeping as still as she could, the weight placed on the chandelier was slightly breaking alerting the hybrid who really didn't want that to happen. Toffee apparently aware of the sudden change in the office moved out of range from the chandelier hearing the slight movements above him stood in a corner arms crossed. A loud snapped occurred dropping Lotil and the chandelier to the ground shattering parts of what was once crystal, Lotil laid atop of it sat up holding her head when a shadow crawled over her almost making the hybrid hop out of her skin.
Toffee stood over the startled monster seeming slightly concerned but angry, his yellow eyes narrowing looking down at Lotil who's ears were held back with her own expression of pain and nervousness he opened his mouth to say something but was caught off guard when the hybrid passed out either out of fear or from her exhaustion.
Which partly alarmed Toffee, who leaned down on one knee to look over Lotil had he noticed she was missing a wing. The place where the wing had once been looked like it was burnt off leaving a scorching wound which left dried green stains on her back, probably blood the injury was slowly healing but needed to be treated. Toffee examined the wound once more thinking to himself I may have only met you once before. But I do remember you having two sets of wings but now the left one is gone. What happened to you?
The question rang through his mind while lifting up Lotil bridal style and taking her out into a different bedroom somewhere in the castle to treat her; ignored all monsters that questioned him. Toffee found one room upstairs, locked the door behind him, and settled the resting body of the hybrid on the bed before heading back out to retrieve some bandages and alcohol, looked over at Lotil who's chest raised up and down in what made her seem relaxed. The grey lizard only sighed and headed out the door.
