Forgiven threats
I've made it to lunchtime in my first day. Expectations at this school are really high, and I can see why now.I see a fox approaching. He looked like the one who strangled me earlier this morning. And I see a girl with him too. A jaguar.
"Come on Lightning, you gotta at least apologise."
"I am NOT going to apologise to that pathetic human! She doesn't belong here!"
Clearly they mean me. So that guy called Lightning was the one who strangled me? Who's the other one with him?
"You're not going to make me apologise to her Evenstar!"
"You're going to apologise to her, or I will slice your head off!"
"Okay, jeez, put a lid on your temper or something."
I see them walking towards me now, sitting down with me.
"Hi, I'm Evenstar," the jaguar says. "You're Hayley right?"
"Yes, I am," I reply.
"Well, this is Lightning," she gestures to the fox next to her while saying it "and he has something to say to you."
"I'm umm..." he starts. "I'm sorry for strangling you this morning."
"Don't worry, I've had worse. You're forgiven," I tell him.
He offers his hand to me and I shake it, smiling. He manages to smile as well.
"So, what's it like being you?"
"It's tough, for starters. Hey, you wanna see something cool?"
But the bell rings. Too late to show them.
