A little chat

"Third row, you can go,"Mrs Miller ordered. I hurried out, into the corridor to find Alice waiting outside the door. Dammit.
"Hey, Elena. Just wanted a chat with you, walk with me?"
I had no choice. She waved away Millie and Carla and led me to the bench outside by the fence.
"I know your dirty little secret." I frowned and bluffed it out.
"What do you mean?"
"Don't act stupid, I see you panting after Jack. Back off, you little minx or you'll be sorry." The sweet enticing smile she wore daily had been ripped off, showing a cool, superior glare now directed at me.  "I mean, Jack's an idiot but he's a popular idiot. Him dumping me is not going to happen. I make the rules! Hear that? Me." She was almost talking to herself now, more trying to convince herself than me. I nearly felt sympathetic before she turned her icy gaze back at me.
"What are you looking at? Didn't you hear me?"
"Ok, he's all yours," I said with my hands up in surrender, before I froze under her gaze. She smiled almost pleasantly before stalking out.
