Just Tell Him

Chapter 3

"So what’s the plan captain?" Alexia asked Allison when their team settled down on the bleachers. "Um I’m not exactly sure," claimed Allison shamefully, "but what I’m sure about is who gets what position for the first game." Daniela looked at Carlos. He was sitting next to her, anxious to play.
"Daniela, Alexia, and May, you guys are going to be my defense," Allison told them, and they nodded in agreement. "I’ll be in midfield with Prim and Zane. Carlos and Aaron, I need you guys to be my forwards, you think you two can do that?" Allison asked them. "Sure," Carlos replied to her. Aaron nodded his head. Allison smiled, "Great. Keira, you don’t mind being goalie, now do you?" Keira shook her head, "No of course not, I’ll try my best." "Go red team!" Alexia shouted quickly.
Meanwhile, Rick was assigning his players positions. "I have already got this planned out. Felix you’re going to be my goalie," Rick told him. Felix sat on the bleachers and sighed, "Alright." "Kate, Mari, and I are defense. Ocean, Paula and Nate are midfield. Lastly, Louis and Frank are my forwards. Got it?" Rick asked impatiently. "Yeah," his team moaned.
"Jeez now I wish I was in Allison’s team ," Frank whispered to Louis. "What was that Frank?" Rick looked Frank straight in the eyes. "Nothing," Frank looked innocently at him. "That’s what I thought," Rick turned around and walked over to Mr. Riley. He notified him that his team was ready. "Yeah me too," Louis replied back.
After Allison's and Rick's teams were ready, Mr. Rick told everyone to get into their positions that they were assigned to my their team captain. Those who were not assigned a position stayed out. "Let's have the blue start off this game," Mr. Riley announced. Frank and Louis took their positions on the long black line that divided their team from the red team. Frank took the ball and looked over at Louis, "Ready?" Louis nodded. Mr. Riley blew his whistle.
Frank passed to Louis and started to run forward. Louis dribbled the soccer ball towards the net and looked to see Frank if he was open. Frank waved his hand out to Louis, "Hey I'm open!" Louis took his chance and quickly passed the ball to Frank. Frank was ready and watched as the ball rushed towards him until the ball disappeared. "What?" Frank questioned. "Aaron!" Carlos shouted. Frank looked up and saw Carlos dribble the ball and pass it to Aaron. Aaron took the ball and rushed into the blue team's side.
Aaron came closer to the net and Mari. She shrieked and moved out of the way. "Damn it Mari! What're you doing?" Rick yelled at her. Rick rushed over to Aaron and tried to get the ball. Frank and Louis rushed over. Rick kicked the ball away from Aaron's reach. Ocean took the ball and quickly passed it over to Louis. Carlos ran over to Louis and tagged behind him. "Bet you won't get the ball," Louis told Carlos. "Bet I will," Carlos smirked. He kicked between Louis’ legs and the soccer ball moved away. Carlos rushed in front of Louis and dribbled the ball up towards the blue team’s goal.
May tried to block Louis and take the ball but Louis passed the ball to Frank, who was right in front of the goal. Daniela ran up to the ball and reversed it and kicked it. Aaron took the soccer ball and brought it up with him to the blue team’s side.
"Aaron!" Carlos called out and waved his arms up to signal Aaron to pass the ball. Aaron kicked the ball to Carlos and Carlos made it up to the goal. "Kick it!" Alexia shouted to him from across the gymnasium. He kicked the ball forcefully and made a goal. "Yes Carlos!" Aaron high-fived him and patted his back. Daniela ran over to Carlos and put her hands on his shoulders and looked at him in the eyes. "Wow, you’re really good! Great job!" she told him excitedly. Carlos blushed and smiled, "Thanks I really appreciate it." Louis and Frank walked over to them. Louis put his arm around Daniela. "You should try out for the soccer team in the spring," suggested Frank. "I’ll think about it," Carlos replied.

        They continued playing soccer until Mr. Riley told them to dismiss to the locker rooms so they could change. Daniela and May finished changing and they stood in front of the mirror trying to fix their hair.
             "Carlos plays really well," May spoke up while she brushed her hair with a comb. “Yeah, he beat Louis and Frank and they’re really good,” Daniela raised her eyebrows and tied her back into a messy bun. “He seemed to have fun,” she added. May nodded. The bell rang. May rushed over to her gym locker, threw her comb in it, and then closed and locked it. She ran over to Daniela who was already standing at the door waiting for her. They walked out into the hallway to their next class.

The final bell had rung and Daniela walked outside with Frank, Carlos, and Louis. "Bye," Louis said and he kissed Daniela on the cheek. "Bye bye guys," Daniela waved and smiled to Louis and Frank. They both waved back while Daniela turned back around and walked with Carlos to their buses.
"I can't believe he rides a bus," Louis sighed, "now everyday, at the end of the day, he'll walk with her to her bus and I won't be there." Frank and Louis started to head off to their houses. Frank put his hand on Louis' shoulder. "Look I get it, you're a jealous boyfriend. I've been there, done that. I’m sure, knowing Daniela, she won’t let him do anything,” Frank told him understandingly. Louis muttered under his breath, “He’s going to try to seduce her or something.” Frank sighed and took out his phone. "Wanna go to the secret park or something? To get your mind off things," he asked. Louis shook his head, "No it's fine, I have a ton of homework anyway."
Meanwhile, Daniela and Carlos walked together to the buses. "How was your first day of school, Carlos?" Daniela asked him. "It was great, so far I like it here," Carlos smiled. Daniela smiled back and looked up at the sky. "Look if you need any help on anything, and I mean anything, just tell me and do my best to help," she told him. "Thanks alright," Carlos grinned. "Oh here's my bus," Daniela stopped walking, "can you find your bus on your own?" Carlos nodded. "Alright then, bye, see you tomorrow," Daniela climbed up on her bus.
