Closed eyes. Breeze toying with my hair. Music flooding through my ears and into my soul.
THIS is heaven.
I wish that I could stay here for eternity. Never go back inside. Never have to face anyone again. Never have to keep faking a smile...
Ugh... No matter how much I want to deny it, this is also hell.
Funny how life can be the absolute best and absolute worst at once, huh?
I feel a light tap on my shoulder.
I reluctantly pull out an earbud and turn to look at my brother. I raise my eyebrows questioningly, not bothering to ask what he wants. He knows anyways, being able to read my mind and all.
"Troy wants to see you."
Troy? Really? I roll my eyes. "I guess that I'll go see what he wants..."
Derek grabs my arm before I can stand, his eyes so full of pure terror that my heart skips a beat.
"No. You have to leave. NOW. You have to get out..."
"Wait..."
"You have to leave. I can find you a place to hide..."
"What..."
"I have a friend who says that he knows a place..."
Either he's so frazzled that his own thoughts are canceling out mine or he's ignoring me.
"HEY!"
He stops, shoving a hand over my mouth and his eyes widening even more. "Hush!"
I glare and shove his hand away. "What is going on, Derek?"
He swallows hard, taking a deep breath. "Liz... Troy wants to kill you."
I blink. Slowly.
This isn't true. It can't be. Troy totally sucks and is a total player, but... He's NOT a murderer.
Then again.... Don't I trust Derek? He's never been wrong before...
I mutter something rather colorful under my breath.
Derek sighs in relief. "Yes, of course I'm right. Now you need to get out of here..."

Annnnd this is where I'm going to stop. It's probably not really that interesting, but... >.< Yeah.
