Chapter 2.
Pokestops and Leveling up

Pokestops and Leveling up

"But light, I've run out of pokeballs!" You may be saying
fret not my friend, there are three ways you can get more!

-Poke-stops-
When you are on the map screen, you may notice small blue boxes floating around, (unless you're like me and live in a rural area, then things become a bit more complicated.) the boxes re called "Poke-stops". as you may have noticed your character has a circle, or radar, around their feet as they walk.  This is the range you must be within a poke-stop or gym to interact with it.
To interact with this poke-stop, simply click on in when the box unravels, and spin the token in the middle, this will award you possible items from the following:

Pokeball: This is the most common reward. They are necessary for catching new monsters.

Potion: These are used for recovering the HP of a Pokemon after a battle.

Razz Berry: This item makes it easier to catch Pokemon. The creature eats it.

Revive: Revive is used to restore a Pokemon if the monster faints during a battle.

Egg: Each egg has a Pokemon inside. It will only catch if it’s placed inside an incubator. They hatch at after you walk 2KM, 5KM, or 10KM.

Lucky Egg: When a Lucky Egg is eaten, it will double a trainer’s experience for 30 minutes.

Incense: This will help attract Pokemon to a trainer for 30 minutes.

Great and Ultra Balls: These are enhanced Pokeballs that will help trainers catch rare and strong Pokemon. These can only be obtained at higher training levels.

Incubators: Incubators are necessary for hatching eggs.

You will always get 50 XP from a poke-stop.

-Where are poke-stops?-
You can generally find poke-stops in towns, and at churches, landmarks, hospitals, and other places of interest. but keep in mind locations are not up-to-date, so they may not be talking about the correct object.

-Leveling up-
You get rewards for each level you have throughout the game, so the higher the level, the better the reward. leveling is the best way of getting poke-balls aside from poke-stops.
You will collect the following reward for each level:

"But Light, how do i level up?" I hear you ask. You level up by gaining Xp, or Experience points. you get this by visiting stops, fighting in gyms, and hatching eggs, etc. You will get the following Xp rewards for the following:

100 XP – Pokémon Caught
500 XP – New Pokémon
10 XP – Curve Ball
10 XP – Nice Throw
50 XP – Great Throw
100 XP – Excellent Throw
50 XP – Checking in at a Pokéstop
100 XP – Battling a Pokémon Trainer at a Gym
150 XP – Beating a Pokémon Trainer at a Gym
50 XP – Beat a Pokémon in training at a Gym
200 XP – Hatch a Pokémon
500 XP – Evolve a Pokémon

You can also use an item known as a Lucky Egg to double your experience gained for half an hour. You can get these from the shop, leveling up, or pokestops.

-Leveling Tips-
For the best results in raising your level it is reccomended to catch hordes of pidgeys and rattatas and not send them off, as four caught pidgeys is enough to evolve one. after you catch enough of these, use a lucky egg (Available easily in later levels, save them up until you get a lucky egg) and evolve as many as you can at once. each evolution will grant you 1000 xp to your next level as long as you evolve within half an hour of using the lucky egg.
