Chapter 2
They may have been transported to their fairy homes, but I was in my mortal home.
First of all, I live with my mom and dad, and two sisters. My mom and one of my sisters, Alyssa, have the Sight. My dad and my youngest sister, Melody, don’t have the sight, but do tend to avoid bumblebees. I love them all and tend to stay here often.
So, anyways, I flew outside and nearly stepped on something. A moth bigger than my cell phone. “What the heck…” I muttered, drawing my knife.
“Hello, Perrie, The leader of the Hunters.” The moth whispered.
“We don’t have a leader!” I yell. (Yeah, I know I lost it! Shut up, Devon.)
The moth ignored me and kept talking. “I have taken those who you care for most. See?” White mist came out of his mouth. I saw Alyssa and Melody being attacked by fairies.
That was it for me. I crushed its little body until it disintegrated. “Damn you,” I muttered. “Alyssa! Melody!” I called.
“We’re here!” Alyssa called from her bedroom window, waving with some play-doh.
“I’m gonna go to the fairy world, ok?”
“OK!” Melody called.
I spread my long, black wings and flew off, traveling through the Time Vortex in the middle of the flight. That moth was so stupid, but it could mean trouble for me and my friends; especially Brittany and Shirley. I didn’t want anything to happen to them, but if the moth found out about mortals with the sight, he’d send the fairies after them, to lock them up and make them live in exile. I had to warn Devon first, and he’d tell Alex—
“PERRIE!” Alex was screaming.
“What?”
“You just dropped out of nowhere!”
“Sorry, I was trying to meet Devon and Brittany.”
“Why?”
I quickly replayed the story to him and asked him to pass on the message to Snake, and that I’d tell Devon.
“Ok,” he replied. “But I do think it would be better if we also warned Brittany and Shirley.”
I frowned. “No. The less they know, the better. It could kill them.”
“Fine, then.” He replied. “Let’s go.” I nodded to him, and we both vanished.
“Devon?” I called.
“Perrie, I’ve been looking for Devon everywhere! I can’t find him!” Brittany emerged.
“How did you get here?” I asked.
“The connection.”
“Oh, that makes sense. But I know we dropped Devon here……..” I replied. “Brit, did you manage to see through the connection to find him?”
“It takes a lot of energy, but I’ll try.” This was the reason I loved Brittany; she would do anything for her friends. Suddenly, Brittany sat down on the bed. “With Snake…. he’s with Snake…..let me transfer the connection to you….” I felt a jerk go through me, as if someone had stabbed me.
“Devon Hunter, what are you doing?!” I yelled.
“Perrie! I came here by mistake! You also now can read my thoughts, and I can read yours!”
I quickly thought out the story of what happened, and the connection closed off.
“Brittany...” I whispered.
“Yeah?”
“I’m going to tell you to stop using the Sight. I’m saving your life.”
“And that’s why being friends with you is interesting.” She smiled. “Something always happens.”
