Chapter 5
I wake up to an awful racket and a dreadful headache. I find myself in a soft bed with a wet cloth clinging to my forehead. Aunt sits beside me on a stool. "Aunt... This is your room..." "Never maynd dat! Lass, yer worried me sick. Other than Courtney, yer startin to feel laike one of my daters now!" These kind words make me sob. "Oh thank you! You do not know how much that means to me!" The old women's face softens. "Oh lass, what I would do to give every girl like you a mother." Loud shouting could be heard from downstairs. "What's that noise?"Aunt rolls her eyes. "It's Jimmie and Courtney fighting agayn! Jimmie's only gawn and cheated on Courtney with her best friend. She caught them eating each others face off! Jimmie's a fool. Courtney's a worthy lass, with every lad fighting for 'er and now he's just gambled away the opportunity." I wince. I should be feeling happy that Courtney got what she deserved, but, well, Jimmie? He sort of let me down. But what was I hoping for anyway? Atleast I stopped myself from getting carried away, especially last night. Jimmie's a nuisance, and cheating on Courtney with her bestfreind, disgusting. He only ever stuck to me because I was a challenge for him.
BANG! A door slams shut downstairs. "THAT'S RAYT! GEDDOUT AND STAY OUT! CLINGING TO ME LIKE SCUM AND STALKING ME EVERYWHERE!" Ouch. I can't believe he just said that to Courtney after what he did. Aunt gets up and races downstairs, ready to pinch Jimmie's ear.
BANG! The door slams shut again, this time by Jimmie. God this was not doing my headache any favours.
