I gasped. Soul was in pain because I saw him die? I scooted over next to him and pulled him into a hug. He was stiff, but then he relaxed and silent tears started to soak my shirt. I looked down at him and wondered why it bothered him so much. After a minute, he sat up and wiped his eyes. He laughed sadly and said,"We should probably get to school..."

We stood in front of the steep stairs, not looking forward to climbing it. As we started the tiring walk up the stairs, I thought back to that moment before. What had been my problem? So not cool, Soul.
