Please Please! Help (don't ignore this plz)
My cat toasha is 4 or 5 years old now and we consider her a elder cat and she's very shy and hates playing and ever since we got jack he always pounces on toasha play fighting with her so since he can't take a hint toasha literally attacks him she doesn't use claws because she does realize he's just a kitten but she bites him and jack always try's to claw her face and neck and I'm afraid one of them will eventually get very hurt. Please help!

So try trimming the claws on bouth cats regulay and if you don't have jack fixed try that because he mightbe fighting for taratory good luck and sorry for you

I didn't say they don't have feelings they do just not jealousy they have almost every feeling a human can have but not jealousy because even if they are domesticated animals they still are wild at heart so they still go by wild cat rules even though they are infact domesticated.

Ok my cats fighting has already been stated twice now that the problem is solved but thank you for your concern and though cats have feelings like humans they don't get jealous, jealousy is not a trait in a cat but if you mean they are getting territorial and wanting to establish dominance then that's a very good explanation

Toasha isn't that old (cats can live up to 20 years) also you should separate them

Orrrr , get a cat tree that jack can't climb or a perch that jack can't get to , that way when hacks getting on toasha nerves she can get away from him ^_^

Ok well , fed them in the same room , play with them in the same room , and , keep jack in his crate and let toasha smell him and get used to his wild spirt .

Cat specialist here! Got 5 of my own so I know what's up. You have to do a re-introduction. Basically, you're going to separate them for a bit, then slowly re-introduce them to each other by placing them in the same room with foods, toys, distractions, cat nip, and hiding places. Control the situation and make sure the cats are happy. Ask me for more if this isn't enough.

Cats are tough. This would happen on the streets normally anyway. She won't hurt him seriously, just put him off.

Well, older cats are very territorial than younger cats younger cats are curious and I think u should ask the vet about these kinds of problems they know ?
That's good and all it really is but since toasha is old and doesn't play she runs away from him and she's always 10 seconds away from a mental breakdown so I need to find a way to get them both to make up with eachother

To be honest I really dont know whenever its time to takr one of ur cats to vet ask questions or search up online resources im not really good at answering cat questions and I understand how u feel DESPERATE OF YOUR BABEHS hehe sorry about that and bills... your not buying or paying for questions are you?

Relax. I have the EXACT SAME situation with my two cats & I KNOW (especially since my mum's a vet) that they are only play fighting, however terrifying (yes, I know how terrifying it can be). Jack and Toasha are simply trying to establish dominance. If Jack gets too bad, one swipe with claws from Toasha will put him off. You only need to worry if you start noticing that Toasha has bald spots , is over grooming a particular area, ignoring her food or limping/in obvious pain, in See More▼ which case take her to a vet and mention the fighting as a possible cause. Having said this, if you do feel you need to do something, get a clean spray bottle, the kind you use for spraying weed killer, fill it with water and set it to 'jet'. Every time you see them fighting spray them, particularly Jack. Cats hate water and so this will put an immediate stop to it, and hopefully over time, stop it all together.

Oh well they been at it for a month now and jack usually starts it toasha often try's to retreat but jack chases her sooo..it usually doesn't stop until jack gets bored of it all

Well it all depends on the animals. Sometimes it will continue even after dominance is established, or sometimes it can last less than a week. I really couldn't tell you. Personally though, my cats started to stop at about the two month mark, occasionally they still squabble, but nowhere near how they used to.
