how do people come up with words?
Like did someone just find a tree and blurt out the word tree or sum?

Before there was a spoken language, people would just point at something and make a noise to indicate they were referring that that thing. This would lead to that noise being associated with that certain object. It’s kind of amazing that humans were able to figure out how to use language when you think about it.
