there might be a corona syptom that requires toilet paper. also, people are buying tons of $3 wet wipes and selling them on ebay for $40 and are doing the same with the TP.

They panic because it's something new and cannot cure, which is the coronavirus. Humans buy household essentials and food to survive and not get affected by the virus. It is a pretty smart choice because some humans have low immune systems.
