Because people want to be perfect and learn from others mistakes and not their own.

Because some are afraid of judgement. Yes, it's true that we learn from our mistakes, yet we don't want others to laugh, tease or judge us because of them. Society can be very harsh at times, and some mistakes to them, are hard to let go and forget. Judgement is very strong to some, as they care about what others think of them.

Mistakes are mistakes. So we try not to make them.

Or because we just are simply afraid of getting made fun of, or losing something important due to a silly mistake.

Sometimes...history repeats itself countless times...whether it be in one's mind or in the real world... We are afraid to get hurt in any way....or for most Americans...We do not like change.
