Intelligence

Siberian Huskies are highly intelligent, which allows them to excel in obedience trials, though many clubs would like to keep the Husky's instinct by doing sled-racing. However, because of their intelligence, they can easily become bored and may stop listening to commands. Many dog trainers usually attempt to avoid this behavior by keeping them busy with new activities. Also due in part to their intelligence, Siberian Huskies tend to be very observant of the actions See More▼

Shedding

The biggest aspect of Husky's that make people hesitant is their shedding. This is where the love has to come in on the owners part. When a husky sheds in the summer, their hair flares and you can grab it by the clump. As breeding becomes more advanced, Husky's are being breed to retain a very short coat in the winter and summer. So if you feel like you could love a Husky but not deal with the shedding it is smart to find a breeder that can get short-haired Husky's. See More▼

Barking

Now when it comes to barking, this truly is where Husky's make a reputation. They do not actually "bark" often which is good. But they do love to let others hear their "Siberian music" or howling. Since this is a natural trait for Husky's be ready if you are planning on owning one any time soon. This can be a very difficult behavior to train but can be done...just not as quickly as training dogs to not bark. Also if you are more comfortable with quiet time in your home...Husky's See More▼

Traits

Some common traits about Husky's is that they are naturally very gentle creatures that are extremely outgoing and intelligent. They can be independent pets when an owner is not around so they won't lull or experience separation anxiety like others. They are extremely friendly and eager to bond with their family when they are around. However, these dogs are somewhat difficult to train and do require a special person who is willing to be patient and persistent. But as anyone See More▼

Characteristics

Husky type dogs are energetic and athletic. They usually have a thick double coat. Huskies are known for pale blue eyes, although they may also have brown eyes and may even have yellow eyes. Huskies commonly have different colored eyes, called heterochromia of the eye. Huskies are more commonly affected with some degree of uveitis than other types of dogs.

Which of these is a common trait of Huskies?

All of these (Escaping, Strong hunting instincts, Food stealing). Siberian Huskies are often known to raid bins and kitchen work surfaces. They are great escape artists and will not only jump over fences, but also dig under them. Huskies also have a strong hunting instinct and have been known to kill rabbits, squirrels and even cats (though most will live with a cat if introduced at an early age).

Yay! Can I add some husky facts?
-They were originally bred for warming children, but during the gold rush, they were used as sled dogs, so whenever some people now think of huskies, they think "Sled Dogs"!
-Huskies have "heterochromia" which means that they have different colored eyes.
-Their life expectancy is from 10-14 years, which is a good length of time for a dog to live.

That's all~
