if anyone was genuinely curious what was the reason for my last post other than just the common feeling amongst most of us of hating the administration, they canceled a $12M grant that was going to be used to fix my city's water plant following a water crisis in january where we were all six days without clean water. we could not shower, drink, or go to work because of the water crisis unless you work somewhere like i do where we were being forced to come in. our grant was taken See More from us because the administration declared that the BRIC program was "ineffective and wasteful" and was more about a political agenda than actually helping us, which means that our city infrastructure is going to continue to fall apart. because of this administration, we could have another water crisis.

I'd strongly recommend investing in CleanLife waterless shampoo, conditioner & body wash. I haven't been able to purchase any yet myself, but apparently they supply nursing homes. I tend to wipe my face down with half a wet wipe in the morning and the other half at night for face wash routine, so that's an option too.
If they said you gotta boil the water, that See More means it might not be beyond cleaning. If you become desperate enough to need more drinking water, one method of cleaning it is 1) Filter the water through a bandana or T-shirt. 2) Filter again through a quality filtration system (Brita or Berkey or whatever brand). 3) Boil the filtered water.
Also, if you hit another crisis, post about it on here and Reddit and whatever other site ASAP, and include ways to donate to you, somebody is bound to help even if a little. If you gotta Cashapp, depending on how I'm doing at the time, I could drop you a few bucks too. That way y'all can stock up on jugs of water

@xxchild0fm0nstersxx i have no idea. we were instructed not to use britas and stuff, though! we were told the only way to be sure the water was safe was to boil it before use. what we had done was stockpile bottled waters (my mother is an opener at a local grocery store so we were able to get enough that time) but i'm not sure what another crisis would entail. See More i know our junky water filter didn't do much. we used the bottled water for makeshift showers, but it's definitely not ideal long-term.

That's beyond fücked up. I know multiple places (like Flint) are STILL struggling to get clean water, now they're ruining the water for MORE places??
How do you think you'll survive a future water crisis in the meantime? Was it too severe for one of those Brita water filters to help? I have these Coleman water purification tablets I got at Walmart for like 13$. See More They've come in handy when I was stranded in the middle of nowhere and had to get water from a marsh

and a lot of people around where i live aren't necessarily bothered because many of them can afford to go out and buy packs/gallons of clean water in the event that it happens again, but that's only like the upper %. people in my situation can't afford to drop $50 on water for an indeterminate amount of time.

@xxchild0fm0nstersxx apparently my colon is super messed up so i have to take rounds of laxatives to flush it out of my system which kinda sucks because i can't go to work because i gotta go to the bathroom like 20 times a day
