Okay, let's compare and contrast!
E.M.Pulse is faster than Sonic, because:
He can stop time
Time-travel into the future
Create tornadoes
End earth (if he wanted to)
He can create a HUGE tsunami See More
Compared to Sonic, our blue hedgehog cannot win a race with Pulse, even if he had that Mega-Super thing. So it's come down to this; Sonic has met his match.
Side note: If Pulse can outrun Rainbow Dash (while Sonic had a struggle to get in first place) with a snap of a finger, then you know E.M.Pulse is faster than Sonic.

Can someone tell me how E.M.Pulse ISN'T faster than Sonic?
He's not. Sonic is WAY slower than E.M.Pulse. What can Sonic do? Turn into a ball of fur, faster than the speed of light (E.M.Pulse is WAY faster than that), turn into a Super Saiyan ripoff, and collect some rings and crap. E.M.Pulse is not only faster than him, but stronger, too.

Summary:
Dog walks in, sees man is sad because he can't grow anything...
Plugs in little speaker, and dog tells him to grow something on his body...
Go to store, tons of seeds, but all containing warts, tumors, etc... See More
The dog told the man to grow a tumor, even licking it to approve of his actions...
Man is happy because he was finally growing something...
However, tumor grows and the man is about to die...
Dog offers his life because he only cares about the man's happiness (or realized he done f*cked up)
Man thanks the dog for everything he did for him...
That's my take away. The dog was only after the man's happiness, and was willing to give his life for it.
