Chapter 2.

Screeching Nightmares

I was walking on a narrow path in a very large grove, when out of nowhere a small TV appeared in the path I was walking on. The TV grew until it was larger than the grove. I stared up at the turned off TV, it turned on and all I could see was static. I tried running around but to no avail, everything was static and I started crying until I woke up in a cold sweat. It was around seven in the morning and I was woken up by the sunshine gleaming through my window. I realized I only had an hour to get ready for school and get there, I rushed to the bathroom to change and when I got out, I started two pieces of toast and got my backpack ready. When the toast was done I smeared butter on it and I got my backpack on, then I quickly rushed out the door, toast in one hand I believed I would make it.
I made it right in my classroom when the late bell rang. My two friends, Holly and Carl greeted me with smiles and asked me why I looked so paranoid. I told them what happened, and they didn’t believe me. I could tell it in their eyes even when they said they believed me, I could tell they didn’t. I spent the rest of the day in my desk with thoughts whirling around in my head, Why didn’t they believe me? Why did that happen? How did the TV turn on by itself? I didn’t know the answers to any of them and I tried to calm myself down but it was no use, the thoughts kept coming. Soon those voices turned into dark thoughts not even I could make up. The TV is haunted and it wants to kill you. Your friends plan to betray you. There isn’t hope, you will die. The world is going to fade.
I tried to tune out the voices in my head, but they still screamed in my head dark thoughts. By the time I got the voices to stop it was the end of the day and I headed home.
