Face Off
"KENOBI!!!" a sinister voice only Obi-Wan and Kiara could recognize. Just as Obi-Wan feared, Darth Maul jumped out of a tall tree a distance away from them, but close enough. Obi-Wan put Kiara behind him. "What of all places brought you here, Maul??" Obi-Wan asked. "I told the one behind you that if she ever dared tell anyone she saw me, I would strike her DEAD!!" Maul said fiercely. "I suggest you leave her out of this! She has nothing to do with the conflict we have between each other," Obi-Wan shouted."She now does, Kenobi. You obviously want to protect her with your life. So, I will torture her and kill her in front of you. Then to end your misery, I will quickly end your pathetic life," Maul snarls and ignites his double light sabers. Obi-Wan ignited his saber as well and prepared for Maul to strike. The Sith Lord began by doing a double spin and trying to strike Obi-Wan, but he easily blocked it. As the light saber battle continued, Kiara began to mentally criticize herself for telling about the Zebarak before her.
She should have known that Obi-Wan would have wanted to get himself and the Council involved in the mess. Kiara looked at the orange-yellow eyes of the Sith Lord, and he briefly looked back at her, but not in a way she would expect. He seemed to be trying to figure out how Obi-Wan knew her. Maul reached out to the Force for answers and immediately got the answer he was seeking.
This auburn-haired girl was his sister. Their Force bounds that collided and melded with each other were evident. Why hadn't he recognized her before, or knew Kenobi was related to her? Was Obi-Wan hiding her way before they met each other on Naboo, after Qui-Gon Jinn was murdered? This just didn't add up.
"So, you two are related?" Maul smirked. Obi-Wan had a look of shock, Maul just figured out he had a sister, and would do anything to use her to bring him down. The anger that he held with his master's death rekindled instantly, and he began to strike more harshly than ever before. Maul was caught off guard and was struck several times by the Jedi he hated more than anyone else. As he was brought to the ground, he laughed.
Before he could run away however, he saw a familiar auburn-hair girl under a pile of rubble. For some reason, he felt the need to rush to her aid. He wasn't thinking about what he was doing, and lifted the piece of rubble off of her using the Force. He picked her up, and was "desperately" searching for Kenobi. Maul would let her live once but no more after that. His heart was racing...
He ran in different directions trying to seek out Obi-Wan so that he could take the girl, and leave quickly. Maul found Obi-Wan on the ground unconscious with severe burns and injuries. He put Kiara down, and tried to shake the man below him awake...but had no luck. "KENOBI! GET UP!" Maul yelled and slapped Obi-Wan across the face.
Obi-Wan instantly woke up with a groan in pain. He slowly stood up to see...no....it can't be...Darth Maul with Kiara in his arms. "Take her and get out of here! I will only help you both this one time," Maul shoved Kiara into Obi-Wan's arms and ran away. Obi-Wan took Kiara with a dumfound expression. He could not believe that Maul had saved the One he tried to kill for game.
Obi-Wan rushed away out of the fire and towards Kiara's speeder. He later arrived a medical facility to treat him and Kiara's injuries. Word spread quickly about the explosion, but none ever discovered the three of them being there late at night. Anakin came later to check on them both and asked what happened, but Obi-Wan never said a word about the experience.
He would have to report to the Council about it personally....not letting anyone else, especially Kiara, to be harmed by the Sith Lord. This was a job for Jedi Masters only. He would have to slip away alone to hunt Maul down...
