Chapter 3.

Place?

We sit down cross legged on the polished wooden floor, I smile at Ashley and he looks very tempted to ask me a question. So I make the first move. “You look like you want to ask me a question. Well, what is it? I ask, and giggle slightly. This would be an awkward moment if he does not ask whatever he needs to ask. He turns bright pink and looks down at the floor. “Weeeeell, what is it then?” I ask again, still giggling. He looks at me and sighs. “Were you REALLY born in Spain? Do you really have seven siblings?” he asks quickly. So I say, “Yep. Both of those are one hundred percent true!” I smile again, “well that's good to know then.....” he smirks as well. “What about you then? Well whadda boutcha??” I look at him like I am desperate to find out, and I kind of am. I am curious. “Well, Ummmm, I was born on a cruise ship, probably explains why I am a strong swimmer.....” he says. I am shocked that he was born on a boat. I give him an odd look. He nods his head and I nod mine. “Were the boat located, though?” and rest me chin on my head and my elbow on my knee. “Not sure. Mum has always said, ‘somewhere in the pacific ocean.’” He sighs. “Well fair enough then,” I mumble with not much else to say. “Well dad sometimes says it was somewhere new Caledonia, apparently,” he finishers, and looks at his feet again.

Ashley IS a nice person to hang around with, even if I haven’t known him for that long. Very quiet, doesn’t say much, but a nice person. He has a cute smile, I must admit. Ooooooookkkkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. Did I REALLY just think that? Omg. Anyways, he spends most of his time looking at his feet or staring into space, and he nods occasionally or shakes his head. A few kids, about four or five others, mostly girls, have stopped playing and go sit behind the line scattered around us. Ashley starts to bite hi bottom lip, so I ask whats wrong. “You look anxious. Is everything okay??” I sigh. “Yep. I’m okay. Just waiting for home time to come!” he says with a slight giggle, looks at me with his green eyes and gives me a small smile.

Fat boy, or Bryce, on the other hand, is still playing hockey with some of the others, gets hit in the groin with a plastic green hockey stick, which makes the whole class in giggle-fits. Even Ashley manages a small laugh. Most of us remain giggling for the next few minutes. Then fat boy catches my eye. He gives me a gross smirk, so I quickly look away, at Ashley, who just gives me a sad-ish look, shakes his head and looks at his feet. Once again, so his feet must be highly entertaining, then if they are like they are, why don’t they put on a show for us??? Maybe not. Back to fat boy. HE IS THE MOST DISCUSTING BOY EVER!!! He is a flirt, and according to Ashley, he likes me. Gross gross gross! Ashley and I continue to nod heads and mumble to each other and giggle if something funny comes along. I sigh, and settle my eyes on the hockey puck-thingy or whatever it is called, watching its every move without moving my head much.
“HEY FILLIPA!!!” a girls calls out to me from the other side of me and Ashley, I look, and its tall purple pixie cut girl aka Abby. I blink at her, not one hundred percent sure what to say or do. I look at Ashley, and then he looks back at me, as if to say, ‘its okay to hang around with them’ so I look back at the three pretty girls. I turn around and move towards them. I will be very careful, since they may be bullies. “Ummmm......, Hi.....” I say as simply as possible. “HI!! They chirp back at me like hungry baby birds waiting to be fed. I blink at them. I don’t want to talk to them. Not today. Then the recess bell finally goes off. Yay!!!
