Chapter Two
Stonefeather ran through the forest, not stopping to catch his breath. Last night at the gathering, Nightwing had told him to meet by the border. Nightwing had meowed to be there at sun down, but Stonefeather was already late because of herb sorting."Stonefeather, your here!" it was Nightwing, "you took forever!". Stonefeather smiled at her, she was always cheery with humor. "May I step over the border?" she asked, Stonefeather nodded.
"Look, I have some serious news" Nightwing's eyes were full of excitement and worry, "I'm pregnant with your kits". Stonefeather's blood turned into ice, his mouth dropped open. "Are you ok?" Nightwing asked, her eyes started clouding with worry. "No! I'M A MEDICINE CAT! YOU'VE MESSED THAT UP" Stonefeather yowled, he backed away. "Please Stonefeather, don't act like that! I'm sorry, I'm sorry" Nightwing's eyes were filling with tears, "Please, understand'. "I'm not a medicine cat, because of... YOU" Stonefeather didn't ponce on the queen, he didn't claw her, and he didn't kill her, he loved her, that was that. "I'm sorry Nightwing" Stonefeather choked out the words, "our kits will be the best!". "That's the spirt!" Nightwing muzzled her mate.
Stonefeather nodded, he was to in love to notice the cat staring at him. "No, not my Stonefeather!" the she-cat meowed, her meow filled with horror, "not you, why?".
