If your cat or cats are leaving when you were cuddling with them then you have to let them nicely go or calmly pet them unless they are being vicious. You can never grab a cat and pull them back.
They can get scared and mad and you should always let them leave if they want to. Cats feelings matter just as much as everyone else in the world.  If you pull your cat or cats back to you when they are walking back then you should try your best to stop because it can make them scared and they might hate you.
You can change what a cat thinks about you easily all  you need to do is change the bad things you do to them and make them nicer.
