After the Rain Stops

Mage Kara

Kara Nuni held the scrolls close as she ran down the hallway, late for her spell casting lesson.
"Damn it, Ozito! Always with the headaches...!" She curses silently, sneakily opening the door and tip toeing in to her seat.
Her friend, Mia, glances at her.
"Ozito?" Mua whispers, and Kara responds with "Ozito."

As soon as she sat down, Apostole Jake looked right at her.
"Ah, Ms. Nuni, how delightful of you to join us. How's about you show us how to summon a minion?"
Kara's face went blank, as if she was playing poker.
'A minion? That's too eas-'
"Without a scroll."
'Shit.'

She slowly stands up, and Mia and a few of the Battle Mages, mages that use War Magic, give her a thumbs up.
She politely smiles back, then walks down to the small wooden circle that was in front of the podium.
She took a deep breath, then raised her hands and muttered the tome.

Almost immediately, a crack appears in the ground and a set of claws stick out, then a small Minion pops its head out, garbbles something, then hobbles to Kara and sniffs her foot.

Kara smiles brightly.

She had just did a spell without the scroll! That never happened to her!

Apostle Jake smiles and claps.
"Well done, Kara! That's extra marks for you!" He says.

Then he was immediately jumped on by the Minion, it attaching to his face.
"Ah! No! Bad minion! Bad minion! Get off his face!" Kara yells, trying to pull the small devil off of her teachers face.
Mia and the Battle Mages laughed long and hard at all of this. This was more or less a daily ritual by now, but it was still hilarious.

When Kara FINALLY got the damned thing off of him, he had makeup on like a clown would have.
"KAAAAARAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Kara held the minion closely.
She was in trouble.
Again....

The Chancellor, the head of the school, rubbed the bridge of his nose.
"Ten counts of magical fraud, twelve counts of failed alchemy experiments, and one accidental summoning of a succubus."

Kara remembered the succubus.  
It wasn't...
Eh, it wasn't exactly aware of 'Self-control'...

"Kara, you're a good mage, but you lack self-control. Mages aren't supposed to lose control of a spell, much less of a summoning."
Kara sunk into her seat.
She wasn't a good mage.
In fact, she was the worst one in the school, everyone knew that.
"I'm sorry..." Is all she says, looking down. The minion garbbled on and on, digging in anything and everything.

He sighed, closing the report.
"Kara, you're a good person. You just need to find someone that'll help you control your abilities. You're powerful,. Hell, you're more powerful than I am, and that's really saying something! You just have trouble controlling it."
She nods and silently responds with, "Yes sir..."

He sighs.
"Three days detention."
Kara nodded and went to leave when he stopped her.
"And Kara?"
She looked at him.
He pointed to the minion, which was on his head, chewing his ear.
"Get the minion. It tickles, but if I laugh, the roof will collapse."
