The Diary of a Casual Person

The Diary of a Casual Person

I feel like writing a diary. Then again, I'd have to collect my whole day, pretty much, and roll it into words. Boring! I also feel like having nice, short and sweet chapters. Yeah. This is a fictional diary of a casual person, Violet Clouds. It probably contains some things that happened to me, but not much. Cover art by me. No stealie the character, she's my copyrighted persona.

Chapter 4.
Barbecue Party

Barbecue Party

Hello diary!
You can tell it was nice and sunny today because I cheered.
I hope you like today's Wikipedia pic.
You see, I went to a barbecue party today.
It took place in Aunt Tessy's garden.
She lives nearby so we took a stroll there.
My parents began talking with the other adults.
I was laying on a lounge chair in the sunshine.
It was really warm like July should be.
Not November-y like the last few days of rain and chill.
There was an apple tree above me.
I could see and smell the sweet white apple blooms.

Aunt Tessy planned a barbecue.
She had chicken breast and bacon.
She had some turkey and ribs.
She had all sorts of different things.
Even kebabs and veggies and bread and onion!
The food was smoky and hot and delicious.
It was extra nice weather too, that's a bonus.
The adults were planning to chat till late evening.
I was allowed to invite Michelle over.
I called her and she came on her silvery blue bike.
We played and talked and looked at Aunt Tessy's veggie garden.
Michelle got some barbecue leftovers.
We played with Aunt Tessy's neighbor's dog.
It was a lovable collie and it was so cute!

Later I borrowed Aunt Tessy's rickety red bike.
Michelle and I went cycling for a bit.
It was tons of fun and I felt very happy.
We dropped into Stafford's deli.
We got some almond snack and plums.
I wanted to go to the ice-cream parlor.
It was getting a bit late tough.
It was too far away and we wanted to hang out a bit longer.
We went to the playground.
It was empty so we crawled into the swinging basket thingy.
Then we climbed them rope things.
It got late after we finished so I cycled back to Aunt Tessy's.
Michelle went to the shop to buy some flour.
She was running out of it.
She needs it to bake and she bakes loads.

I arrived at the party and it was nearly over by then.
Mom and Dad took me home.
We watched Rio back home.
We had popcorn again.
It was a good day.
