Chapter 3.

||Chapter 2|| Sally Face

Sal groaned and slapped his hand down on his alarm clock, which beeped loudly. It was a sunny Saturday morning, and he always woke up early to take a walk just as the sun would rise.

He sat up, tossing his warm blankets aside and welcoming the cold air of his apartment onto his skin. Dragging his feet across the floor, Sal opened his dresser drawers and went through his clothes. He tossed out a large black Sanity's Fall shirt, a long sleeved maroon and black striped shirt, black cargo pants and his swing-230 demonias.

He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and sighed, stretching out before getting dressed. He looked at himself in the mirror, tucking in his shirts into his pants and fixing up his shoes. He didn't know why he still dressed up, even if it was just going to be him and the sunrise. But oh well.

He strapped his prosthetic on and grabbed one of his monster energy drinks out of the fridge, before snatching up the keys and heading down to the parking lot.

His keys, chains, and the bell on his large collar all jingled as he quickly descended the stairs, keeping his eyes on his feet, so he wouldn't slip. Sally, with his head down, unfortunately slammed his body straight into someone quickly rushing up the stairs. He and the person tumbled down the stairs and landed in a heap on the floor.

Sal, his arms covering his face to protect his prosthetic, trembled from the pain. He shakily pushed himself into an upright position.

"Man, what the hell?! Watch where you're..." His voice suddenly was lost in his throat. Travis' face was inches from his, worry dripped off his features. The two just stared at each other, eyes locked, heavy breaths as they recovered from their fall.

Loud footsteps suddenly were thudding down the stairs.

"Sal?! Sal! Sal, I heard crashing, are you okay?!"

Larry descended the stairs in nothing but gray sweats that loosely hung off his hips and last minute bunny slippers. He was quick to hoist Sal to his feet and inspect his prosthetic for cracks, cupping his face in his hands as he ignored Travis, who still laid on the ground.

"Dude, I woke up to loud crashing in the stairwell and when I went to see if it woke you up, and you weren't there, I got so worried." Sal gently pushed Larry back.

"I'm fine, I'll probably bruise later, but it's nothing bad." Sal was lying through his teeth. He was resting his left foot on the toes as he knew it was sprained, but he didn't need Larry screaming at Travis in the middle of the quiet apartment lobby.

Sal glanced over his shoulder. Travis was gone. He looked back over at Larry and suddenly rested his weight on him, his ears pushed back.

"Larry, I sprained my ankle." Sal said as Larry put his hands on him to support his weight.

"What?"

"My ankle. I sprained my ankle."

"I thought you said you were fine?!"

"I lied okay! My ankle is sprained! Take me to the hospital!" Sal hit Larry on the shoulder in frustration and gave him the keys.

Larry assisted Sal to the car and quickly drove off with Sal to the hospital.

Sal rested his head on the window in his seat, staring out at the rising sun. This wasn't how he hoped to see it, on his way to the hospital, but it was still beautiful. He closed his eyes and let his thoughts go, so he'd calm down.

Travis looked cute today.

His eyes shot open. What? No. No, you don't like Travis anymore. Don't think like that.

Not again. Not anymore...
