Chapter 2

I had more bruises when I woke up but the pain never affected me, I headed outside after getting ready to find Braydon and Sophie arguing. Sophie was my best friend, she had baby pink straight hair with dark grey eyes, she was very pretty and always wore a hoodie and baggy jeans with air max trainers. It was difficult to hear what they were arguing about but as I got closer I found that it was about me.
“You can’t keep making her miss school. She needs her education and less time with you.” Sophie hissed at Braydon. She turned, grabbed my arm and pulled me the opposite way, Braydon was shouting at me to turn back. We stayed in silence until we reached Jasmine’s apartment.
“Aisling...look what is it that he takes you out of school for?” Sophie looked doubtful of her question.
I shook my head. Before she could say something Jasmine strolled out in front of us, she was 17 so only a year older than Sophie and I. A breeze kicked up blowing her jet black wavy hair back revealing her light green eyes and her radiant pale skin. She was wearing denim shorts and a pink belly top showing her belly button piercing.  Both Sophie and Jasmine looked gorgeous while I just stood there knowing if it wasn’t for makeup I would be purple and look like a punching bag.
“Hey, you ready to go?” Jasmine asked as she locked her front door. We nodded and entered her powder pink mini cooper convertible car. Tension mounted the car and made it hard for any of us to speak. Sophie put on her CD mix tape she made and I watched as they started singing along.
“You are awfully quiet in the back. What’s up?” Jasmine piped up while she concentrating on driving.
“Nothing.” I mumbled, Sophie turned around and stared at me. She always knew what I was thinking somehow. A look of hurt flashed across her face as she turned back to face the front. Before long we pulled up in the school car park. We all got out and walked towards the main building; Sophie grabbed my sleeve and pulled it back showing her my cuts and a few bruises. I pulled it down as quickly as it went up. My eyes teared up as they both stared at me in shock; I dropped my bag and bolted into the girl’s bathroom.
“Wha...Why...I...” Sophie stuttered as her and Jasmine briskly followed me. I had nothing to say to them about it, I knew what would happen.
“I self harm, ok? Now you know.” I managed to say.
“Not that, the bruises. I already knew about your cuts as you aren’t very good at hiding them and I didn’t want to upset you more by saying anything to you.” Sophie claimed, Jasmine’s eyes widened. By her expression we could tell she would’ve wanted to deal with it straight away so she would have liked to be told. Jasmine is a gossip girl, that’s why we never really tell her anything plus she exaggerates how serious things are and this would be a good example.
“I...I just can’t tell you.” Sobbing I leant over the sink feeling sick again, Sophie stroked my back hoping it would comfort me. I rushed into one of the cubicles and was violently sick until it was only liquid left. I felt Jasmine and Sophie squirming behind me; I took a swig from my water bottle.
“Are you ok?” Jasmine inquired quietly. I nodded; Sophie shook her head at me.
“No you aren’t. Now you are going to tell us why you have bruises all up your arms.” Sophie demanded. I looked to the floor and softly nodded my head. I went to the sink and splashed water on my face, removing my makeup. They gasped at how many bruises I actually had.
“This is all from Braydon isn’t it? I knew something wasn’t right.” I shook my head violently.
“S...am a...nd B...ray...don” I corrected her. The next couple of minutes went by really slowly as they tried to comfort me and say everything will be alright but I knew the truth and they didn’t. The bell for class rang we got to registration and Braydon was there waiting.
“You stay away from her. If you ever...” I pulled her away before she could say anything else to him especially if she told him that they now know. I tilted my head in shame as everyone could see that I had been crying. An hour later Sam and Braydon storm into the classroom, the teacher telling them to leave, I didn’t want to look at them I knew what was going to happen.
“Look mister whatever but I am taking my daughter right now. Aisling get up now!” I did as Sam said but before I could Sophie stood in my way and Jasmine joined her, my head span as they all started arguing.
“She isn’t going anywhere with either of you. Isn't that right Aisling?” Sophie watched as I collapsed in a heap hitting my head on a desk. After that I couldn’t remember a thing.
