I asked my mom where Max was now. She looked at me with a sad expression on her face. In that moment, I knew what had happened to Max. I knew he didn't make it out of the car alive that night. I started crying and screaming, laying in that hospital bed. My parents tried to calm me down, but nothing helped. All I wanted was Max, comforting me and making me feel better. But I knew I couldn't have that. I was hoping that this was all a dream; that I would wake up again and Max would be there by my side, even though I knew the reality. He wasn't coming back. He was gone for good.
