Chapter 2.

Allen

What am I going to do? Why would he something like that? I was in my room thinking about Allen and that kiss. I have never thought that my first kiss would be like this. He ruined it! Why? I got it, I will not go to school tomorrow, or any other day. I am smart enough now to simply continue my life without school. No, that is not going to work. I am sure it is okay. Calm down, Eve, I am positive that will be forgotten by tomorrow.
My mother came back from work and found me in the house cooking "Eve, what are you doing here? Don't you have school?" asked my mother while hanging her jacket. To be honest, I never keep any secret from my mother. I simply tell her everything I think, she knows that I don't do anything wrong and that I share everything with her and that's why she trust me a lot. So, I just told her about what happened to me; the library, the book, Allen and the kiss. "You got kissed by the most popular guy in school?" my mother said while smiling at me "I don't get why are you nervous and mad" my mother said while drinking the soda I brought for her.
"Mom!! Are you serious??" I yelled in embarrassment. "He doesn't even know me, and I don't know him. He simply kissed me like I was his girlfriend for years" I said while cursing in some foreign language -Arabic- so my mother won't  get it.
I went up to my room and i read books for hours until it was dinner time. My back hurts from the seat. I can't get this scene off my mind. The way he kissed me, the way he held my hand. Eww what am I thinking? No, I hate him. That dumb, inconsiderate, ugly piece of of stupidity!!
I had dinner with my mother and brother and I went back to my room. After trying to sleep for like three hours, I finally managed to close my eyes without thinking about it.
I headed to school on foot, as usual first thing in the morning. I did not go to my class, I just avoided everyone from the school, so I sat in the library. As usual, Sam and Sarah were already there. I told them about what happened yesterday. "Whaaatt??" why both asked "Allen kissed you? tell us all about it" said Sarah while putting her phone aside. After I told them the whole story, they started saying things like how lucky and stuff. I told them that I do not want to think about it anymore. Few minutes after, Sarah kicked my leg "Psst, on your left" she said while winking at me. There he was, Allen. What is he doing in the library? I tried hiding my face behind the book and I melted on my seat. Yep, he saw me. "Hey, Glasses girl" Allen said while drawing that ugly bullying smile on his face "Can we talk?" he asked.
-"No, I am busy" I said while continuing reading.
-"Come on, I am sure books can wait" He snatched the book from my hand.
-"Hey!! I was reading. What do you want?" I tried to keep my voice low.
-"Are you mad?" Allen giggled. "You did not give me the chance to explain what happened yesterday" he took a seat next to me.
-"Explain?? Explain what? Why you kissed me all of a sudden?" he got me really mad with his cool and calm voice.
-"Well, yes. You see, my friends made a bet, they said that I have to kiss the first girl that talks to me that time" he said while resting his chin in his hand and smiled.
-"What? a bet? You have no right to just kiss people whenever you want!" my voice was not low anymore and the Mrs. Jackson was giving me the "ssshhh" look. Me and Allen stayed quiet for a moment until Mrs. Jackson stopped looking at us. Allen continued "But, Be honest with me, You liked that kiss didn't you?" He nearly whispered. Sarah and Sam were smiling when they heard him. I stood up in anger "What? No I did not enjoy being kissed by a stranger! Why are you talking to me now? You got what you want, you won the bet, now leave me alone" I left and went to another table.
Allen followed me and sat on the opposite seat of mine. "You're right, but also came to know what did you want yesterday" Allen paused for a second "Maybe you came asking for a kiss in the first place" he winked. My face was so red, mixed with anger and embarrassment. I kicked him from under the table. "ouch!!" Allen shouted "I'll take that as a no" Mrs. Jackson lost her patience "One more noise and you both are getting out of the library"  she warned. I closed the book I was reading "I came to tell you to return the book you borrowed from the library" I continued "One Hundred Years of Solitude. I never thought you actually know how to read" I started to make fun of him.
-"Glasses girl, I know how to read. And I have a homework for that book; summarize it, analyze few characters and stuff like that" Allen said proudly.
-"Yeah, right. You want me to believe that you do homework?" I continued "You are not the kind that even cares for school"
-"Why? Is it because of my look?" he asked. I started staring at him, his hair, his smile, his basketball-team jacket and (oh my God) his green eyes. "Yes, because of the way you look" I stopped staring for it started to sound awkward.
-"And you" he bent closer "You look smart, but after all, it's just the way you LOOK" he continued "always carrying books, always wearing glasses, trying to look educated and smart to everyone" he rested his back to his chair "and it works" he smiled.
-"Wow, you really got it figured out" I continued "Don't you have something to do?"
-"Hmm, not really" Allen replied.  I opened my book and continued reading and Allen was still staring at me with his smile.
-"You better go now, I bet you girlfriend is looking for you" I said while taking my bag and leaving.
-"I don't think so" he continued "I don't have a girlfriend"
-"Yeah, I believe you" I continued "You telling me that you, the most popular guy in school, don't have a girlfriend?"
-"Yes" Allen said while laughing "Funny isn't it?"
-"Okay you better go pick one from the line, every girls in school wanna be your girlfriend"
-"And you?" he paused for a moment "are you one of these girls?"
-"Why would I? Having a boyfriend in high school is fun, but it's just a waste of time. When we finish high school, we all go in separate ways" I continued "And even I do have time for this, you would be the last guy on earth that I would think of dating" I wore my bag "Now, excuse me, I'm going to my class"
-"Ouch! fair enough glasses girl. Won't you at least tell me your name?" Allen stood up and was ready to leave, as well.
-"Eve" I got out of the library "You better return the book tomorrow, I've been looking for it"
-"I'll be here tomorrow, glasses girl" Allen paused "I mean Eve. Will you come to the library tomorrow?"
I smiled and I was happy for a minute, I don't know why. But my conversation with Allen was fun and exciting. "I am always in the library, genius"
-"Great! Okay..tomorrow" Allen said.
