1. There are four members - Luke Robert Hemmings (lead singer and guitarist), Calum Thomas Hood (bassist and vocals), Michael Gordon Clifford (guitarist and vocals), and Ashton Fletcher Irwin (drummer and vocals). ?

2. Luke was born on the 16th of July 1996, Calum was born on the 25th of January 1996, Michael was born on the 20th of November 1995, and Ashton was born on the 7th of July 1994. ?

3. They are all from Sydney, Australia. ?

4. Luke's parents are Liz and Andrew Hemmings, and he has two older brothers, Ben and Jack. Calum's parents are Joy and David Hood and he has an older sister, Mali-Koa. Ashton's mother is Ann-Marie Irwin, his father left when he was two years old, and he has a younger brother and sister, Lauren and Harry. Michael's parents are Karen and Daryl Clifford and he is an only child. ❤️

5. Luke is Australian, Calum is half Kiwi and half Scottish (he is NOT Asian), Ashton is Australian and American, and Michael is Australian, Irish, German, English and Scottish. ?

7. Luke started putting covers of songs on YouTube when he was 14 years old. Calum and Michael went to the same school as him, and after seeing his covers, they decided to form a band. Michael knew Ashton through mutual friends, and they asked him to be their drummer. They continued to put covers on YouTube, performed some concerts and wrote some original songs. Niall Horan from One Direction saw their original song, Gotta Get Out, and later asked them to join One Direction on their upcoming tour. ?

8. They were officially formed (Ashton joining, they performed their first concert together) on the 3rd of December 2011. ?

9. Many people think their first single was She Looks So Perfect, but it was actually Out of My Limit. Their first EP was the Unplugged EP. Their first album was 5 Seconds of Summer. ?

10. Their latest single is Good Girls, and they are releasing a live album, LIVESOS, in a few days. ?

11. They have released five singles - Out of My Limit, She Looks So Perfect, Don't Stop, Amnesia and Good Girls -, six EPs - Unplugged EP, Somewhere New EP, She Looks So Perfect EP, Don't Stop EP, Amnesia EP and the Good Girls EP - and one album - 5 Seconds of Summer (and LIVESOS will be released on the 12th of December). They also have quite a few unreleased songs (they include The Perfect Disguise and Superhero), and they recorded a song for the World Cup, Hearts Upon our Sleeve. They also have released three songs by the way of music videos that are not singles - Heartbreak Girl, Try Hard and Wherever You Are. ?

12. They have released eight music videos. They have also released behind the scenes videos for She Looks So Perfect, Don't Stop, Amnesia and Good Girls. ?
