Chapter 9.

POV: Azai (4)

The monster stalked out of it's cave. It was black and it's fur almost resembled feathers. It had giant teeth, resembling a kitchen knife, if it had doubled in size. It's claws were huge, as I predicted before, considering the deep claw marks left after every attack. "So, you're the next one. Ha! I expected a man, not a boy!" The monster's deep voice echoed around the pit. "You will be quick. Unless you choose to listen." So debating. That was his game. "What do you have to say! You're just a killer! A murderer! A monster!"
"Oh dear! And if you kill me, you will be the same." It sounded true, but I couldn't trust a monster. I grabbed my sword from it's scabbard. The blade was sharp and clean. "Getting right to the fight are we? Did you not hear me boy! Killing me will only make you the killer! You will be the murderer! You will be the MONSTER!"
"LIES!"
"Is that so?" I lunged at the monster, he jumped out of the way. His yellow slit eyes stared at me, waiting for my next move. I took another swing at the monster, making a small cut in his muscular leg. He clawed at me, throwing me to the ground, causing me to lose my sword. I grimaced slightly at the pain as he moved closer towards me. "A boy is not fitted for battle." He raised up a claw, preparing to kill me. Quickly I grabbed my knife from my pocket. Just as his claw lowered, I stuck up the knife and stabbed his foot. "THIS IS NO TIME FOR GAMES BOY!" The monster was angry now. He quickly threw me across the pit. My back slamming into the wall.

He stalked over and clawed at me. I tried to jump out of the way, but he got my leg. I stood up, leaning against the wall and I held up my knife. The monster let out a deep rumbling laugh. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the girl. She's alive. She's ok. I yelled "STAY BACK!" And she ran back into the cave. This distraction caught me off guard and the monster took this advantage.

A white hot pain in my chest. The blur of black and red. The screaming. Was it Zara's scream? I couldn't tell anymore. A deep rumbled laugh echoed in my ears.

The pain.

The blurs.

The scream.

The laughing.

Everything mixed together. Creating a blurb of blurs and noises. Until, nothing.
