Chapter 2.

Time flies Bye

I quit thinking about that day.
    “Beatrice, go and wash up.”
Beatrice’s tears made my shirt wet. She nodded sadly and went out of the kitchen to go upstairs.
I walked right out after her and saw Solotice with a face mixed with confusion and worry for Beatrice. I put my finger over my mouth and told Solotice to be quiet. She already knew the situation.
Alfe smirked and said “What did I tell you.”
“Shut up.” I said calmly, my emotions unable to show anything.
Another Customer came in and sat down next to Nester.
“I would like a latté please.”
I nodded weakly and walked over to him.
“Will you be paying in cash or minutes, Sir?” I asked.
He looked down at his arm, where all of our minutes were kept. I saw it too; he only had two hours left.
“It’s on the house.” I said feeling sorry for the man.
He smirked and said “No I can pay for it with your minutes.”
He pulled out a gun that looked like a big candy cane. Alfe gasped and pushed me out the way.
“Why did you do that for?” I yelled.
    “He wants to kill you!”
I turned around and saw Nester already down, her Minutes read 25 minutes. Her minutes dropped every second. 25 seconds later, she was dead.
     “Upstairs!” I ordered everyone.
Solotice went outside because she couldn’t go up the stairs. I waited for everyone to get up the stairs before I did.
The man yelled “Your next sweetie.”
I tripped on the steps as he came closer. His hand took hold of my ankle and pulled me down. Cloyd came from upstairs and pulled on my arm.
“Get off of her creep.” He yelled.
I suddenly felt my skin turn hot.
   “Let go Cloyd.” I said.
“No!” He yelled while still pulling.
My foot started to flame and the man’s hand let go.
“Damn it!” He yelled as I got up.
My hand felt hotter than ever. I jerked away from Cloyd and told him to go up the stairs.
We all ran in to the Bathroom and slammed the door behind us.
“You think you can hind from me!” he yelled, it sounded like he was in the hallway.
I slid against the door, while Maple and Alfe held it back.
    Cloyd asked “Are you okay?”
I nodded, while quickly tucking my foot under myself. I looked at Beatrice and she looked partially shocked and somewhat mad. She began to blush, her cheeks turning cherry red.
I get up and look at Cloyd, who is starring at my foot. Lucky, I grabbed a towel to cover the “Burns” that my foot had. I walked over to Beatrice and handed her a towel. She wrapped it around her little body. Then her Furious anger came though.
“GET OUT!!!” She yelled at us.
The man tried to get through the bathroom door, but Alfe and Maple held it.
Cloyd remarked “That bastard set Auntia foot on fire.”
    I smile weakly at him.
Beatrice looked at me with disgust. Alfe’s foot slid off the wet tile floor. He quickly placed his body on the door.
“Does anyone have any Ideas?” He asked.
Maple looked at the window and said “The window, we could jump.”
Beatrice starred at me, hoping for me to say something, but I thought it was a great idea. Today is not my day to die.
Maple quickly locked the door and moved backwards from it slowly. We all starred at the doorknob.
A shot came from outside the door.
“You think you can hide from me!” He yelled on the other end of the door.
I looked at my sink and saw a hammer. I quickly grabbed it and started to hit the glass window.
Each time I hit it, the little glass pieces would fall off.
I ordered “You guys go first.”
Cloyd argued “No, you go first; I can’t stand the thought of losing you, Auntia.”
“I’m not your girlfriend.” I yelled, with a slim smile.
Beatrice said “I don’t want to lose you either.”
    “I’ll be okay.”
The doorknob still went; he was still trying to get in.
“Alfe, you go first.” I said.
“No, Auntia, I must do my duty.”
I turned to Maple for a little bit of help, but she didn’t understand either. My skin started to hurt with a burning feeling to it.
“Beatrice.” I said to her, while looking at hand.
It was already glowing red. Her eyes widen and she grabbed my hand. I can hear her skin burning, but she holds it anyway. I found the bathtub had water in it. I figured out what she was doing, but I couldn’t stop her in time. My body flew into the old bath water and a sizzle came from my body.
“Auntia is right, we have to go first.” said Beatrice, raising her voice to cover up for my sizzling.
Maple nodded and jumped out the window. I smiled at Cloyd and Alfe, who just for the most of it sat there, refusing to get up.
“If you die, who is going to rule your country, what if your death causes mayhem.” I said, trying to get him and Cloyd to move.
Alfe realized that I was right and got up.
Another gunshot came through the door and Cloyd jumped up and grabbed my hand.
“Promise you’ll get out then.” I nodded and said “Now hurry and go!”
Alfe jumped out and we heard a scream after that. Beatrice and I started to giggle, Cloyd waved and jumped out after Alfe, into the alley.
The door slammed opened and Beatrice just stood on the windowsill, stunned. I got up and shoved her through the window.
The man yelled “Come here, @!$%#, I’ve got some business with you!”
I looked at his now burned hand. He quickly shot his minute taker and I jumped out of the way. My scared little girl part of me came out, and my whole body lite up.
“You a Venusian!?!” yelled the man.
I suddenly felt even angrier, my hair lighting up into flames. He’s face quickly changed from happy to worrisome.
“Leave Now!” I yelled at the top of my lungs.
I watched his legs twist and stumble out of the room, fleeing from my eye sight.
    “Auntia!” yelled Cloyd from outside.
I kneeled down and took deep breaths to calm the fire inside of me.
“I’m coming.” I said while catching my breath.
My eyes looked up and stared at the wall and opened doorway. Stumbling to my feet, I lifted my body up, and peeped from the broken window.
“Hurry up, the house is on fire!” yelled Beatrice.
My eyes widen and I quickly get out. Falling to my feet on the alley way, I hit my knees hard on the ground.
My eyes begin to fill with tears as I get up.
“Where are we going to live now?” asked Beatrice, looking worried.
