Olympian Games - HoO/PJO Story

~~PERCY~~
Over what seemed to be a loud speaker, I heard Leo's voice:

"Alright, everyone.  You should be in the game.  It will look real, but it's not, so don't be fooled.  It'll be hard, but we need to get the prize, whatever it is.  As you can probably tell, the game chose me as the narrator type thing.  I don't know why, maybe because I'm the most incapable, but I guess we'll find out.  I'll be watching on my screen and guiding you through.  Don't ask for cheats, though.  There's a price for that I'll get to later."

I wasn't sure if I was shaking with nerves or anticipation.  Only one thing was on my mind--I had to find Annabeth.

~~LEO~~
I sighed and leaned back in the chair that apparently the most useless players of the Olympian Game were given.  Stuck in this confined room with only a chair, desk, and computer monitor that wasn't even hooked up to anything, I wondered how my friends would ever make it out alive while I was still sane...

~~ANNABETH~~
I was so glad I'd read up on this before.  I didn't need Leo's instructions to know how to access things in a virtual reality.  I closed my eyes and up popped the menu.  It was different than I'd pictured it, more floaty and staticy.  I lifted my hand, which was somehow still visible through my closed eyes, and tapped the PLAYER LIST button.  I glanced over the names to make sure everyone was here.

~~NICO~~
"As I cleared up before," Leo's voice came over the invisible speaker, "There are changes of an unreliable avatar.  Like if you're gay or whatever the game probably got confused and made you a girl."

I winced and gulped air down my dry throat.

"I don't know you people, so I'll just say this.  Any trans people will have a 100% chance of a gender change, so good for them I guess.  Other things that happen that are less severe are things like pigmentation or height change.  In case anyone was wondering I read that straight outta the book."

I heard him laugh, which I was in the complete opposite mood to do.

~~HAZEL~~
"I don't get it."

~~JASON~~
"Leo, can you help Hazel at all?  I know she's really confused because I'm confused and I'm from this century."

I looked around the weird scene that seemed to be loading in chunks around me.  It looked like a town square--something from Victorian England almost--with a fountain in the center and shops labeled with hanging signs ringing it.

"Totally.  Switching to personal assist."  I heard a beep in place of Leo's voice and sighed.

~~FRANK~~
All around me a scene of some town built up.  Fuzzy colored spots started forming in random areas around the square and by some of the shops.  They built up in shape until they were my friends.  My eyes glazed over everyone until I found Hazel, and I raced over to her ever though I knew she was having things explained by Leo.

~~PIPER~~
I saw the other people materializing and I could only think that the same was happening to me in their view.  I needed to hide myself from everyone.  That was my first thought.  But they would know something was up if they didn't see me the whole game.  Besides, I needed to say something at some point.  Still, I refused to look at my character profile and see any of the stats for myself.  I could tell what had happened, and I didn't feel like getting any confirmation.

I locked eyes with Jason (I blame the amazing graphics for this ability) and I could almost see the shocked and hurt animation on his face.
