Nolly: an Abnormal Day sidestory

Nolly: an Abnormal Day sidestory

A little side story for my web comic that I haven't gotten to work on for a while. This is kind of how Nolly came to be Corbijn's second pet.

Chapter 4.

Nolly settles in.

On the first day of living with Corbijn, Nolly had a lot to take in. Nolly got onto the couch, “What’s this? It’s soft!” “That’s a couch,” Corbijn said, “It’s for sitting.” Zhou Tai hopped up right next to Nolly and tucked her paws underneath herself to demonstrate. Nolly glanced over at the table that was across from the couch, covered in cards and small boxes. “What are those?” Corbijn picked up one of the cards, “These are playing cards for this game called Magic the Gathering, my dad’s been building a deck.”
Nolly suddenly hopped down from the couch and ran into the kitchen. Zhou Tai mewed as she observed the yellow being. Corbijn followed Nolly, “this is the kitchen. We have food prepared in here.” Nolly looked at Corbijn, “Nolly is hungry, can Nolly have food?”
Corbijn thought about what Nolly should eat, and grabbed a small bowl for him. The bowl was then filled with cat food, which brought Zhou Tai’s attention. Nolly was about to bite into the cat food when he was suddenly pounced on and bitten. “Ow ow, stop!” Nolly pleaded as Zhou Tai play-fighted him. Once she had pushed the yellow bug aside, Zhou Tai began to eat the cat food.
“That was just mean, Zhou Tai!” Corbijn scolded, “Nolly needs to eat too!” He then decided to grab another bowl, but this time he decided to fill it up with something else.
The bowl was set in front of Nolly. He saw brown spheres floating in a white liquid. “What’s this?” He went to take a bite, and when he began to crunch on the meal that Corbijn gave him, something magical happened.
Nolly’s tastebuds went wild. The amazing chocolate taste of the crunchy parts made him feel playful, and the smooth flavor of that white liquid that surronded each sphere was absolutely delightful. Nolly began to chow down on the food, wanting to feel more of that sensation. When there were no crunchy orbs left, Nolly gulped down what was left and asked again, “what is this amazing thing?”
“They’re called Cocopuffs. I added milk to them because that’s how I usually have mine.”
