Getting Ready

Every day before I open up CupidsHome, my own building, I check if my office is presentable. I fix the crooked metal pink hearts on the wall and fix the books in the bookcase. I adjust my mask on my face before sending my first client of the day upstairs to see me.  Keeping my identity is one of the most important things in this job. If everyone knew who I was I wouldn't have a private life even if my private life sucks. Before I send up anyone, I take a good look around the office. I tried to make the office look like me. How would I design things?

I neat up the stack of papers on my freshly polished wooden desk and fix the positioning the vases. I frown at the sight of the wilting roses and daffodils. "There's no water in the vases," I mumble and sigh. I press a red button under my desk and just a few moments later, my bodyguard, Jackson, comes bursting through my door with a gun. I erupt with laughter at his alert eyes. Realization slowly begins to show on his face and he frowns. "What now?" he says in his raspy annoyed voice. "You didn't replace my flowers as I asked you to! Specifically-"  "-Stargazer Lilies in the black vases, Begonia in the yellow vases, Dahila in the white vases, new decoration on the walls would be cherry blossoms and yellow fading into red, and Roses on the front desk."

He sighs rubbing his face and putting the gun back in its holder. I think that's what they're called anyway. "If you know what to do, why haven't you done it!?!" I ask getting up and begin to empty the vases, throwing the wilting flowers away. "I'm your bodyguard! What you asked me to do isn't my job," he laughs and I shake my head. "I told that my life depended on it!" I dump the water out my windows. "You know me, Jason!" I turn around to face him. "You know that things like this really matter to me,"

"Yeah but-" "Nooooo buts!!" I shush and walk over to him. I stare directly into his emerald green eyes and he stares back into mine. His long, black hair is pulled into a man bun showing off his pierced ears. His fair skin tone making his eye color pop. I assume he's growing a beard due to his stubble along his jawline. His SHARP jawline. He has a really tough look going today and I smile about it. Tough look yet every time he looks at me, he eyes and mouth smiles. "Go get me those flowers and tell Bryson to send up my first client," I order, smiling while giving him the vase. He sets his hands over mine and smiles back at me. "Alright princess," then he winks and leaves the room.

Why did he wink? I think to myself as I walk over to one of my love sacks. He must've had something in his eye. A few minutes later, I hear the door open softly and I face my client."Hi! What's your name?" My first client enters the room. My first client of the day.
