Chapter 6
Later that night, I was stood in the park waiting for Mica. The air was cold, and I was glad I was wearing my black leather jacket to keep me warm. I saw him walk up the pathway, and I rushed down to meet him."Hi." I said.
"Hey." Mica smiled.
We walked to the swings, and we sat down on them.
"Mica?" I asked him.
"Yes?" he replied.
"Why did you move to my school?" I said.
"Well, I was getting bullied quite a lot at my old school. So I had to move, and the only place that was available was your school." Mica explained.
"Oh. I'm sorry that you were bullied." I said quietly.
"No, it's okay now." he told me.
He was quiet for a couple of minutes, then he spoke.
"Victoria, I told you to come here because I wanted to tell you something." Mica said to me.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Well. . .ever since we've met I've had a crush on you. I never knew how to tell you, though. I feel like you understand me better than anyone else, because you're different." he said, blushing and looking down at the floor.
I was surprised and flattered at the same time. I never thought that he would like me. Nobody has ever had a crush on me before, especially not the person that I liked. Most people just think that I'm strange.
"I understand if you don't feel the same way. If you don't, we can just pretend this never happened. We can just be friends if you want, and I won't mention it again." Mica said.
"Can I tell you something?" I asked him, and he nodded.
"Yes?" he said.
"I've always felt the same way about you." I smiled.
Mica smiled back, then he stood up. I stood up too, and I walked over to him. He leaned in, and I moved closer to him until our lips were touching. I was nervous, because I had never kissed anyone before. He started to kiss me softly, and I kissed him back. He tasted sweet, like candyfloss. Mica smiled against my lips and giggled. When we eventually pulled away, we both looked at the ground shyly. Then Mica looked up at me.
"I love you, you know I do." he said.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes." Mica said.
"Why do you like me, though? I'm pathetic and I ruin everything." I muttered.
"You're not. I wish you would stop saying awful things about yourself." he said.
"It's true, though." I said sadly.
"No, it isn't. You're amazing." Mica told me.
"Thanks." I whispered, holding back a smile.
It started to go dark, and the night was cold. I snuggled up to Mica, and he held me close.
"It's getting late. We should probably go now." he said after a few minutes.
"Yeah." I answered.
Then he interlocked his fingers with mine, and we walked down the path hand in hand.
