Chapter 2.

Chapter 1

It was an ordinary Monday morning. Or so that's what I thought when I walked into school. Everything seemed normal at first. Nothing out of place.

That is, until he came.

I walked into my form room and walked over to my seat, then I took my colourful checked backpack off and sat down. I saw some girls on the other side of the room staring at me and giggling. It was obvious that they were talking about me.

"Hi, Victoria!" one of them said, laughing.

I didn't respond. I don't talk at school. I don't like to explain why, because I'm ashamed of the reason and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Not speaking to people at all is quite hard, but I've learned to cope with it.

I wouldn't want to talk to any of the people at my school anyway. They're all idiots who just drink, smoke and swear.

I could hear the girls who were laughing at me saying horrible things about me because I didn't reply to them. I tried my hardest not to listen to them.

Then the teacher walks over to the front of the classroom, and clears his throat.

"Class, we have a new student with us today. This is Mica." he announced.

I looked up at the front. There stands a boy. He was very tall, with olive coloured skin. He had beautiful hazel eyes and fluffy chocolate coloured curls.

I saw that he had accessorized his school uniform with a black bowler hat, a sparkly necklace and a few rainbow bracelets.

I stared at him. He was very handsome, and also very unique. He looked different from everyone else, and I felt like I wanted to get to know him. But then I remembered that I don't speak, and I lost all hope of being friends with him.

The rest of the class didn't seem to like Mica, though.

"Who does he think he is?" I heard a girl sat near me whisper.

"He looks so weird." a boy commented.

"Right, well, we'd better find you a place to sit." the teacher told Mica.

I looked around. There was an empty seat next to me. Nobody had sat there for a long time. I wanted him to sit there, but the teacher would probably seat him next to someone else.

"Why don't you go and sit with Victoria over there?" the teacher said.

I was shocked. He was actually going to sit next to me.

Mica walked across the room nervously. Everyone stared at him as if they were judging him. He gave me a small smile, then sat down in his seat.

I looked at him. He was staring off into space, as if in deep thought. I wondered what he was thinking about.

Then the teacher clapped his hands.

"Okay, so, let's try and make Mica feel welcome." he said.

I just sat there.
