Chapter 3.
Meeting her other half

Meeting her other half

"I wouldn't grab the leaf if I were you." It said with a femenine voice.

I looked to see a, dogs head?
And, did it just talk?
But its 'mouth' did not open...

The little girl quickly looked around to see if someone or something else spoke, but turned her gaze back to the big 'dog' as it is the only thing that could have spoken to her.

Then the girl slowly moved the hand, that was reaching to the leaf, towards herself again.

There was an akward silence that followed as both sides seem to be inspecting the other.

As the girl looked closer she saw that, although only its head poked out into view, it seemed a allot bigger then a normal dog.

Not like she can remember what a 'dog' is exactly, but a weird feeling- probably 'instinct'- seem to tell her, as confusing as it sounds.

The big dog had brown 'fur', a bit darker then her own hair. The rest of its head looked alright, just bigger then 'normal' she guessed.

What stood out most were its eyes.

They were yellow, with hints of brown and even violet around it and the pupils seem to shine with intelligence. They also seem to hold curiousity, as hers probably do too.

As both still stared at eachother you could hear the audible wind passing by, playing with her hair and its 'fur'.

"So are you a girl or a boy?" She asked

It was a question that just popped in her head as it rolled out her mouth, but without her really thinking about it.

The big 'dog' kept staring at her for a while, seeming to process something, then look at her in shock for a moment, till the shock was overcomed by more curiousity.

"How can you talk?" It asked

She tilted her head to the side, instinct telling her it was a way to expres that you do not 'understand' something.

The big 'dog' looked at her expecting an answer. But after another silence it spoke up again.

"So, you don't know why you can talk?"

The little girl seemed to think about this for a moment till she nodded her head to show she agreed.

"Yes, I do not know why I can talk" she said

It looked at her thoughtfully till it mumbled something under its breath and sighed, then walked towards her.

As it showed itself the little girl could finally see its entire body.

Although the head was big, the rest of its body was even bigger. Its dark brown fur trailed all over the body till it became a bit lighter at its 'paws' and 'tail'.
The big 'dog' was also bigger then her, but she thought it was just because she is so little.

As it came completly into view it stopped walking and sat down, continueing the conversation.

"And to answer your question, I am a female, so I'm a girl." She answered

"A 'female'?" The girl asked.

"Yes, a female. It means the same thing as a girl."

The little girl nodded in understanding.

"Which am I?" The girl asked

"I beg your pardon?" The dog asked

The girl tilted her head again not understanding the dog's big words.

"Ow, I mean, I do not understand why you ask me such a question." The dog said hastely after knowing why the girl didn't respond

The girl nodded her head.

"I do not know if I am a girl or a boy." She said

The dog inspected her again.

"You are defenitely a girl." She comfirmed

" 'defenitely'?"

"It means 'without a douth' "

The girl, again, tilted her head sideways.

"What I was trying to say is that you really are a girl."

The girl made a 'Ooh' sound of understanding.

... then continued the silence.

"Well I should probably introduce myself now, I am your wolf counter part."

The girl looked up to her in total confusion.

The dog facepawed herself.

And the girl looked at her with even more confusion, if possible.

"Oke, I'm gonna ask you, What do you think I am?"

"A big 'dog'." She answered as the dog almost slipped on her front paws.

The 'dog' had to take a few breaths to calm down before answering the little girl.

"No, I am not a 'big dog', I am a wolf."

The 'wolf' looked down to the girl waiting for her understanding, and after having remembered it the little girl nodded.

"Oke, and do you know what a 'soul' is?"

Surprisingly the little girl knew that, as she nodded.

"A soul is the inner of a body, it is where some believe emotions stay and work, and to check if the body doesn't die." The girl said smiling, awaiting a 'praise'.

"How do you know this?" The wolf asked instead.

The girl looked disapointed before she finally answered.

"I do not know. I just get this weird feeling, 'instinct' it calls itself."

The wolf looked at her again before sighing. She lifted her paw up to the girl's head and patted it gently.

"Yes yes, you did a great job answering my questions. So here."

The little girl smiled contently enjoying the attenshon.

"So, can you remember anything before you came here?" The wolf asked as she carefully took her paw back.

She girl looked at the ground thoughtfuly before answering.

"No, I do not know. The last thing I remember is that I died, but I can not remember how."

The wolf looked at her and then nodded of understanding.

After a bit of silence again the conversation continued.

"So, back to explaining what I am." She said trying to break the silence
"Your body has 2 half souls. One is you, the human soul, and the other is me, the wolf soul. Together we are one complete soul.
And as you said, we are where the emotions stay and work, and check if the body doesn't die."

The girl nodded and smiled because her answer was helpful.

"... Can you read my 'memories'?" The girl asked

"I beg your pardon?" The wolf asked taken back by such a question.

The girl giggled a bit because the wolf used the sentance she now knows.

"I mean, if we are a 'complete' soul together, why would you not be able to know my thinking?"

The wolf paused for a moment to think about this.

"That is a good question little girl. The reason is because we are not fused together, but are different beings on our own."

Although the girl was happy for the compliment, she still didn't understand what the wolf meant.

"I should really try stop using big words huh." The wolf said more to herself, then she sighed and continued
"You are you, correct?" The wolf even moved her paws to point at the little girl.

It took a moment for the girl to process that, and then nodded.

"I am me, correct?" The wolf pointed at herself this time.

The girl nodded.

"You are not me, correct?" First pointing at the girl and then herself.
She nodded again.

"I am not you, correct?" Pointing at herself and then the girl
She nodded once more.

"That is why 'I' cannot read 'Your' memories and 'You' cannot read 'My' memories, understand?"

You could almost hear an audible click in the little girl's head as she nodded fast and smiling

"Yes, thank you Umh... what do I call you?"

The wolf looked at her and shaked her head.
"I don't know."

The little girl started to think, and think, and think, till you almost saw a lightball above her head for a split second.

"What if- what if we gave eachother a name?!" She asked almost jumping up and down because of her idea.

"... Sure, that's oke I guess. But think of a good name, since I don't want a bad one." She said, being very serious at the end.

"Me too." The girl said excited
"You first."

The wolf looked at her and got very thoughtful afterwards for almost a half minute

"What about... Adila?"

She thought about it for a moment.
"It sounds special, but what does it mean?"

"It means that you are fair and honest. I don't think you would be a person who lies, but that can also just be me."

The girl, now called Adila, smiled and nodded her head.

"Ummh... and I'll call you... ummh is there a name that means someone I can 'depend' on?"

"Ah, yes, Wafi, it means trustworthy, reliable and loyal "

"Oke, but that sounds too much like a boy, so I will name you Wafiya. Yes, that sounds special too"

The wolf, Wafiya, smiled, at least it looked like it, and she nodded as well.

Afterwards Adila yawned.
She got a little confused at this since there was still light, but ignored it since she was too tired to think about it.

Wafiya saw her gesture and pulled her closer as both took a good sleeping position.

Adila pulled herself closer to the fur yawning again.

"Good night Wafiya"

The wolf looked at her one more time before she also closed her eyes.

"Sleep well Adila"

As both fell as sleep...

Well first of all, I love wolves. Second, I really like mythical stories with magic and mystery. It gives it a deeper meaning to it. I just dont like, I love it. There's nothing I didn't like, plus details makes it much more real.
