Waiting for the Turtles

Neon had woken up early and looked down to see Zidern still asleep next to with his ear pressed to her chest where her heart is, she immediately blushed and tried to move only for Zidern to stir at any movement[looks like I'm gonna have to wait for him to wake....] She thought, Zidern woke an hour after Neon did and he looked up at her "M-morning...." He said sheepishly as his face looked like a tomato again "For a black cat you're face can turn red easily" she giggled and got up "Yeah...." He rolled out of the room as she followed "hmmm.... Where is everybody" Neon asked "I think they went out and Splinter's meditating so we should keep things quiet" he walked over to what looked like a new box of pizza stacked by the pinball machine "well how does pizza for breakfast sound?" He said "sounds interesting but pizzas good so let's dig in" "Alright" Zidern plucked a box off the stack and sat in the middle of the room with her
Neon opened the box as the fresh pizza was steamy and smelled delicious, Ziderns stomach growled as soon as the aroma hit his nose "ah that smells delicious...." He grabbed a slice from the box and Neon did the same "breakfast is served I guess" he spoke and quickly bit into it, he couldn't help but let himself smile as he bit in making him look adorable as he ate, Neon was about to eat a slice when she looked at his face and instantly blushed [why does he have to look so cute and adorable!?] Her ears flattened against her head, Zidern looked up at her obviously confused "something wrong?] She panicked and her eyes widened "Uh nope! Nothin wrong here!" She stuffed an entire slice in her mouth with a nom, her cheeks poked out since they were full of pizza, Zidern couldn't help but laugh as he bit down on another slice "You look funny" he chuckled "Zee hanks..." She said in a mouthful, he laughed even more but quickly put a hand over his mouth remembering that splinter was probably meditating and wouldn't want to be disturbed
"Ahem!" He coughed and grunted snapping himself out of it, Neon grinned and rolled her eyes as she swallowed down her slice "Sooo pizza for breakfast" "best unhealthy breakfast ever" she said "heh yeah" he chuckled, he then remembered his scarf was still wrapped around her "hey can I have my scarf back?" Neon looked down at her neck looking at the soft red fabric drooped over her own scarf "this is really soft..." She got it in her hands and put her snout into it "can we trade scarfs for the day?" She asked "No...." Came the quick reply, she tossed it back to him and he instantly wrapped it around himself again "so what should we do?"
Neon asked as she looked over at the clock which read 7:15 "hmmm..." Zidern put a hand to his chin "you ever played video games before?" He asked, her ears went flat again "I was never able to really play any...." Ziderns ears shot straight up "What!?" "Sorry...." She said in disappointment "then I'll just have to shoe you how" Neons ears pointed up again "say again?" "I'm going to show you how to play video games" Neon was foreign video games "O-okay.... I'll probably be terrible at it...."
"Nonsense! Once I show you, you'll be crushing noobs in no time and I'll go easy on ya" he quickly dashed over to the TV that was set up below with what looked like a new video game console next to it "An Xbox" he said "this'll be easier than I thought"
~1 hour later~
"hah!" Neon said as she bested Zidern in another game "well it looks like the student has become the master" he flopped down into a beanbag chair "lighten up" she said with a smug grin "oh hush up" he threw a slice of pizza at her face and it hit its mark "Hey its hard to clean pizza sauce out of white fur!" She snapped at him "I'm sorry...." He said and curled up in a ball, Neons ears dropped down feeling bad for snapping at him "Zid.... I'm sorry.... I didn't mean to yell at you and hurt you're feelings...." She wiped the pizza away leaving a few red splotches on her fur, zidern slowly uncurled "Hug?" She asked with a sad face, zidern slowly rose and gave the tall wolf a hug getting a pat on his back "I didn't mean to through pizza at you...." He said in a sad voice
"its fine, I can always clean it out" she said and continued patting his back, Zidern started purring involuntarily "Zid?" She loomed down at him, "yeah?" He asked looking up at her "you alright?" She asked as she continued, his purring increased in volume "Yeah, why?" "You're purring an awful lot" Zidern blushed and buried his face in her belly "I can't help it, it feels good....." Neon stopped "Thank you" he said still flustered "I'm gonna go clean my face" she walked over to a sink "I hope this isn't linked to sewer water...." She turned on the sink with warm water grabbed a bar of soap and started cleaning her face trying not to get soap in her eyed"
Meanwhile Zidern was pacing back and forth frequently looking at the clock as it was only 8:29 a little over an hour since they woke [I know its not really safe to go out.... But I really miss seeing Murakami....] He continued his pace and tripped over one of Mikey's extra set of nun chucks "Gah!" He said and face planted into a metal water pipe with a loud ding "Huh?" Neon said hearing the noise, she quickly finished and dried her face "Zid? You okay?" She called out "No...." Came a pained cry, she quickly went over to where he was, zidern was still on the floor and was almost knocked unconscious from tripping face first into the pipe, he sniffled and cried as neon picked him up and checked his head and saw a large lump already forming on his forehead "ooh....." She cringed "i-is it bad?" He sniffed as tears continued pouring from his eyes "um.... Uh.... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no...." She set him down on a beanbag gently and went over to where the medical supplies were "Please have some painkillers and an icepack...." She carefully went through the supplies and found some painkillers infused with a sedative "this should help for pain and make him rest for a bit...." She searched more and found a gel ice pack, she went over to him again
"D-did you find anything" the lump was larger as it had finished forming "yeah" she cringed even more and got him a glass of water and gave him one pill since one would be more then enough for someone of his body type and weight "get some rest" she gently picked him up and set him on the couch "okay...." He said and yawned as the medicine began to kick in, she put a pillow under his head and put the ice pack on his head using his scarf to hold it in place, she placed a hand on his face as he started to fall asleep "darn mikey.... Should learn to put things away so people won't get hurt..." He was no fast asleep so she left his side and sat down to play some video games while she waited for him to wake up [poor guy...] Her ears flattened as she continued playing
After about 4 hours neon had gotten bored of playing video games and decided to use raphs punching bag to brush up on her hand to hand combat, Zidern finally woke "ow.... My head..." The icepack slid off and he put his hand to the lump as it had shrunken down and wasn't as noticeable as it was before. Neoms ears perked up hearing his voice, she quickly went over to him "You feeling better?" She looked at him "yeah.... Just sore...." He wrapped his scarf around himself again and held the icepack to his head "good" she smiled and hugged him "are they back yet?" He asked "No, and it's almost one.... Where are they...."
Zidern rested his head on her arm "I don't know....." He said lazily"can we go to murakamis?" He said "But we have to stay down here" she said "But I miss him...." His ears drooped and his expression was sad, she couldn't stand seeing him sad but also didn't want to get them in trouble, but her urge to see him happy overwhelmed her "okay we can go but later around night time okay" Zidern smiled "yay" Neon was instantly relieved seeing her companion happy again "oh and neon" "Yeah?" "You can stop hugging me now" Neon held onto him "No, you're warm and comfy" she plopped down next to him "okay..." He said trying to hold back a blush "so what should we do to waste time?" "TV?" neon suggested as she picked up a remote and turned the TV on to its normal channels
"Ooo ooo that one!" He shouted as she stopped the channel on his favorite old cartoon from when he was a kid, Neon didn't argue about changing the channel but simply lie next to him and wait until his cartoon ended, Zidern fell asleep again and snuggled into her belly, she blushed as he did so and changed the channel onto one her favorite programs NCIS [I'm a sucker for a good criminal investigation show] she thought and rested her head back watching as Zidern stayed snuggled into her
It was now 5 and still no sign of the turtles "were the heck are they..." She mumbled and got up being careful not to disturb Zidern, she was a bit tired of pizza and looked around for another type of food, she opened the fridge and looked inside "Ah noodles" she pulled out the noodles and warmed them up in the microwave and sat down with Zidern again as she slurped on a few, [I missed the taste of these] she thought and after about five minutes she remembered the first time she had noodles at Murakamis with Zidern, "those were really good" she said quietly and also remembered when the large noodle they were slurping on unaware it was the same noodle until it was too late and they accidentally had lip to lip contact "Oh my....." Her face went red recalling how she said it was interesting [it really was....] She sat there blushing and finishing her noodles and looked down at the sleeping Zidern who had moved onto her lap, another thought went through her head [Why is he so adorable!?] She wrapped her scarf around her face to hide his blush in case he woke up or if the turtles came back last minute
