Recovery
Zidern woke first [uh..... I feel terrible...] He thought, he then directed his attention to Neon who was holding him very close to her and he was still wrapped in a blanket [oh yeah....] He was too weak to really squirm around and try to get up so he just let her hold him till she woke up, she woke shortly after he did and looked down at him "morning" "morning...." He said in a raspy voice "you're not looking to good...." She said concerned "I feel awful.... But better than nearly freezing to death...."He got up and tried to stand but his legs instantly looked like wobbly noodles "I gotchya" said neon as she picked him up "first I nearly freeze to death, then I get sick, and now I can't even muster the strength to walk...." He frowned "aw.... It'll get better, I promise" she pet his head gently "we'll just keep you in here and maybe on the couch at times if you want" "okay..." He sneezed "bless you" "thanks, where's my scarf" "it was soaked but it's drying" Zidern looked up at her "don't be sad..." She couldn't stand seeing him so miserable "I just hope you get better soon..." He put his face in her fur as his ears curled back "I'm hungry..." "Well.... Solids are off the table till you're better, how does chicken soup sound?" "Okay I guess" he looked up at her again, he didn't need a normal skin for neon to tell he was probably pale and he reflected this look but with fur
"Maybe we can get some medicine for you... You look plain awful" "mrrr...." She carried him over to donny "oh hey Neonnah" he was looking into a microscope "Hey um, could you try getting some medicine for Zidern, he looks like he needs it"
he took his eye off the microscope and looked at him, he had a black ring around his eye from one of Mikey's pranks and this made Zidern smile a bit "How you feeling?" He put his green hand to his face "Terrible, but that black ring on you're eye helps with laughs and lifting my mood a bit" Donny narrowed his eyes and looked over at mikey "errr...." He wiped it off and diverted his attention back to Zidern "well feels like you're running a bit of a fever so less blankets would be good, a lot of liquids, mainly water, and I wouldn't eat solids while you're sick like this unless you want everything to come back up, also I'll try getting some fever reducers, mucus relief pills, and some cough syrup while were out today" he gave him a pat on the head "Thanks...."
"Can you keep watch on him while I go to eat" Neons stomach growled "sure, set him on the couch" she gently put him down "ill be back in a bit" she walked off to go eat "okay" he watched her walk off with a frown
Raph walked by "so how's the kitty cat doin?" He sat next to him "I feel terrible and cold.... But the cold is from a fever I think..." "Let's check to be sure" Donny put a thermometer in his mouth "you know mikey feels awful about accidentally knocking you into the fountain" Donny said waiting for his temperature "its okay, im not mad at him, just wish he was more careful" he frowned "yeah Mr. Gags and laugh does that a lot and thinks little about the consequences that happen after" raph walked back over to his spot, the thermometer beeped and Donny looked at it "one o two, could be worse and I'm gonna run a test on you to see if you have any fluids in you're lungs"
"I trust you will be well soon" "Donatello said it might take a week or a few days" he sighed and held back a cough "it pains me to see my guests miserable but I hope you will be well soon, and I trust you're friend will always be by you're side" "yeah.... She's always looking out for me" Zidern smiled and finished his soup and set the bowl aside "The best type of friend is the one that never leaves you're side in a time of need" he walked out "hmmm wise dude...." He sat there as his stomach threatened to make his breakfast swim back up "Oh no you don't...." He immediately snagged the glass of water neon brought him from her hand and downed the water suppressing the urge to throw up "well that's one way to hydrate" Neon spoke and sat at his side, Zidern set the half empty glass down "thanks neon" he curled up beside her "hey..." He said putting his head on her belly "yeah?" She started petting him "we've been companions for a while" he sniffled [is he asking....?] Her face started to go red again "uh huh" "I just want to tell you, you've really had an impact on my life.... If you didn't show up and help me out I'd probably be dead..." She frowned "don't be like that Zid...." "Its probably true..." "You've been strong so far, and youve always been, you just needed a little push for you to realize it" Zidern went silent for a bit "yeah...." He looked up at her, she noticed his cheeks were red, she couldn't tell if he was blushing or if it was from him being sick or if it was both
"I just wanna say.... I love.... You..." He cringed wondering how she would respond, Neons face went was entirely red "aw.... Zidern.... I love you too" he buried his face in her belly fur "you give me a good reason to care about others" she hugged him "and don't worry I'll always be at you're side" Zidern slowly hugged back looking up at her "always thought I'd be alone..." He said "well you have me" she hefted him up a bit and planted a kiss on his cheek since the lips wouldn't be the best option unless she wanted to contract a cold too, Zidern froze from this and his fur puffed out "eep" Neon couldn't help but giggle at this noticing her his tail was sticking out stiff "that's the first time I've ever had someone care for me so much..." Neon laid down with him "you get some rest, I'll be at you're side" "o-okay" Zidern slowy closed his eyes and couldn't believe she accepted him, as he drifted off to sleep he felt another kiss on his cheek [my life isn't so awful after all....] He smiled and let the world around him fade away as he slept
