Like a warrior
It has been 2 years after the fire. Though they are gone, the thought of my parents still rings in my mind. After the fire, I ran into the forest nearby. An old wise owl named Barley took me under his wing. Speaking of wings, mine came off. My arm was weak and burned in the fire, then soon feel off. My wings were only hanging of tiny threads of muscle tissue, and Barley had to cut them to prevent an infection. I now only have my legs and my one weak arm.Barley: Marbles! Get up and at em'! *Pokes*
Marbles: *Swats* 5... more... minutes...
Barley: Now.
Marbles: *Gets up* Fine. Don't yell.
Barley: We got a long day of hunting ahead of us. *Picks up cane*
Marbles: Okay, let me get my spear. *Opens chest* Hmmm, found it! *Grabs spear* Alright Barley! Let's go!
Me and Barley head down the old oak tree we live in. Then we start to make are way down to the river.
Marbles: How long do you think my arm will last?
Barley: *Holds arm* Hmmm, not very long.
Marbles: I thought so.
Barley: *Pats shoulder* It's alright Marbles. I heard some bats were only born with 1 wing!
Marbles: *Thinks* ~~That's easy for you to say..
Barley: Look! *Points to river* We're here!
Marbles: *Runs to river* Water! *Drinks* Mmm! I hadn't had a drink of water since 2 days!
Barley: *Pulls out soap and rag* Here, bathe. I have soap and a rag.
Marbles: *Blushes* Can you, um.., turn around?
Barley: Oops! *Covers eyes and turns around*
Marbles: *Takes off clothes and bathes* I'm finished!
Barley: Okay! *Gives rags* It's a dress, wear it for now.
Marbles: *Puts on rags* Okay. Done.
Barley: *Hands bottle* Put this on your arm. It will prevent infections.
Barley: It's the sap from the oak tree!
Marbles: *Splashes water at Barley* Gross!
Barley and I were having so much fun, we didn't notice a mother bear an her cubs came to find fish.
Mother bear: *ROARS*
Marbles: *Smirks*
Barley: Marbles,
Marbles: Roar!
Mother Bear: *ROARS*
Marbles: ROAR!
Mother Bear: *Attacks*
Marbles: *Tries to fly away*
Mother Bear: *Claws arm*
Marbles: OW! BARLEY! HELP!
Barley: *Swoops in and flies Marbles to safety*
Barley flies me back to a mechanic. Before we went in he had to cut off my arm.
Barley: Just hold still. *Gently cuts arm*
Marbles: Ow!
Barley: It's going to sting a little, just hold still. *Cuts*
Marbles: *Chokes back tears*
Barley managed to get my arm off and we went to see the mechanic.
Mechanic Mike: Ello mate! What bring you here today?
Barley: My daughter needs some new arms and wings.
Marbles: *Blushes*
Mechanic Mike: Well how did you get those off? *Looks at Marbles*
Marbles: Uh...
Barley: Grizzly bear.
Mechanic Mike: Ah, I see. I'll see what I can do!
Mechanic Mike was able to get me some arms and wings made of metal for me.
Barley: Marbles, uh, why would you do that?!
Marbles: I don't know.
Barley: I don't know either.
Marbles: Back then, when I got my arms and wings, do you really think I'm your daughter?
Barley: Let's play the quiet game.
Marbles: But, Barley!
Barley: SHH!
Marbles: *Hangs head*
Barley put me in bed. I had a dream tonight. About the bear. It wasn't the mother bear that attacked me, no, the bear had no face.
