"Brookekit! Stop!" Waterkit pushed her sister off her. She jumped up on all fours and hissed. Brookekit pounced on her. She squealed as bit Waterkit neck.
"Brookekit! Waterkit! Stop!" Silversky yelled. Brookekit jumped up and shook the dust off her fur. Silversky growled, fires of rage burning in her eyes.
"Both of you! Go to bed!" Waterkit and Brookekit snuggled up to their mother and fell asleep.
Smoke filled the air. Waterkit coughed. Silversky was carrying Brookekit. Waterkit's father, Dustheart, carried her. The ran into a river.
"Swim, Waterkit! Swim!" Waterkit swam easily. Sunclan was across the river.
"WHAT. ARE. YOU. DOING?!" Stonefur yelled. "There were so many fish! Now there gone." Little Waterkit jumped in the water. When she got out, she dropped a fish in front of Stonefur.
"I got your fish." All of Sunclan looked at her in awe. From now on, Waterkit's loyalty was questioned.
