The Shadow Hunter

Caban part 1

In complete darkness, the Shadow Hunter slid down the rusty ladder for several minutes before hitting a metal platform with a ringing thud.
Waiting for him was a tall hooded figure, dressed in all red with a golden pendant on his chest. "Costolo must speak with you immediately, Hunter."
Shadow Hunter was expecting this, considering his recent failure on the surface. He followed the hooded man as he stepped into a cramped room next to the platform. After pressing several small, glowing symbols, the man paused and smirked. "The Anarchists will be glad to see you after all this time, Hunter. Welcome back to Caban."
The Shadow Hunter looked up from the symbols and saw lights start flickering all down a tunnel. Finally, the soft glow of the lights illuminated the passage...something was wrong. He turned his head to the man and growled in a deep, metalic voice. "What happened to the bridge?"
The hooded man gestured with his hands towards the opening. "Our technology has improved while you were gone, Hunter. When the Anarchists are forced to live in the caves..." The Shadow Hunter watched silently as rocks from the walls slowly spun through the air, eventually creating a path down the middle of the passage. "We learn to control the caves."
The rocks of every size finally came to rest, forming a narrow bridge going straight down the middle the gently lighted tunnel. They both walked across the seemingly solid rocks until they came to a dead end in the cave. The hooded man waved the Shadow Hunter on, saying "You will become accustomed to the illusions eventually." The hooded man never hesitated, stepping through the jagged rock wall and dissappearing from sight. Shrugging, the Shadow Hunter stepped after him.
