School
Tina was going to her regular classes, as today was traditional schedule, where the students go to all their classes, when she saw a crowd of people in the middle of the hall. Being the tallest in the school, she stood at the back of the crowed and she looked over the heads to see what they were looking at. The crowd was tight, though, and she still couldn’t see, but she heard one voice above all the rest.“Gumball, what happened to you?” it was a voice she hated. The one the whole school idolized, the one who made her insecure, the one who was trying to steal Gumball away from her.
’Steal from me? He’s not even mine. I hope he’s not anyone’s…’ The voice belonged to Penny Fitzgerald, an antlered girl with hard wooden skin like a peanut. Her body was perfectly curved, hips and chest not too thick, yet not to thin. She was everything that Tina wasn’t.
“I was hurt trying to protect Tina” All the chatter stopped and everyone looked at her, expecting a reason why. The crowd parted so that Gumball was visible. His clothes were almost completely ripped, because of Tina’s dad stepping on him and his bones being broken. His chest and belly were patly showing from the tears in his shirt. His jeans were ripped beyond repair, so the hospital gave him an old pair of pants for him to wear. He had a black eye and a cast on his left arm and right leg. When he started towards her, he limped slightly and the cracking of bones can be heard. Ignoring the pain, he walked the best he can. When he stood in front of her, he smiled at her.
“You wouldn’t believe me if I said it,” he responded. Everyone responded with silence, wanting him to explain. “I did it because I fell in love with her…” he said, smiling at her. She blushed and looked down at her feet.
“WHAT?!” Penny shouted. “You’re mine! You were loyal to me, never swaying to other girls, only looking at me! Why would you EVER like, Lizard Breath?!” Her face was red. Gumball looked at her, and said something that changed their lives forever.
“It’s because at least she’s cute when she’s mad,” he said, a blank emotionless look on his face, but his eyes dared her to say something. Everyone was ‘ooh-ing’ because no one had dared say something like that before. Tina blushed harder and did something else that changed their lives forever. She grabbed Gumball by his shoulders, picked him up and kissed him deeply, eyes closed. Gumball was shocked at first, but relaxed and closed his eyes as well, kissing back. When she pulled back, she was blushing hard and Gumball was smiling with a slight blush on his cheeks. She smiled back, and set him down, blushing.
“I-I love you… Gumball…” she smiled softly.
Gumball smiled back, cupping her cheek, "I love you too" Penny yelled and stormed off.
