First Encounter

My first encounter with a ghostal spirt was 4 years ago, 2014. Now I'm 16, and I know better. But then, I was only 12, and definitely not ready for the dangers of having a spiritual past. It was 9:00 PM, Tuesday, and I was being dared by my two best friends Jordan and Sierra. There wasn't much time left, only 1 hour, and the dare would have to be done especially fast. Which stunk, because finding gold in an old musky basement could take 8 hours, considering the building of her Victorian house design. "Are you sure you want to go alone?" Jordan whispered, wildly, waving his flashlight around the basement. "Yes. It's the dare. And we know what happens when we break a dare...."I started. "ASK OUT NEMMIE!!!" we laughed and they hurried back upstairs.

I walked down the stairs, going slowly at first, the rushing, in hopes of not going over the dare time limit. I flicked on the light, and then noticing it was too bright, turned it back off and relit my tarnished candle. There wasn't a single corner that wasn't clustered with knickknacks, and snapjacks her parents had placed, in fear of overflowing the already overflowed upstairs. Then I saw him. He was swirling infront of the mirror, a boy of about 17, just waving his ghost-like tail. "Katherine? The Sprit Maker?" and with those words I fled, not wanting to be concerned in whatever shenanigans Jordan and Sierra were playing. But then again, it didn't look like they would have been able to make such a prank.

But ever since then, I've been avoiding the supernatural. And it was only a month later when I learned....I couldn't anymore :(
