Chapter 2.

Chapter 1

“Hey sweetheart! It’s great to be home isn’t it!” my dad says. All of a sudden, I feel a rush of anger. “Get. Out.” I say, pointing at the door. He looks at me stunned, and he doesn’t move. “NOW.” I barked/yelled. He shook his head at me, and went back to watching the game. Collin was staring at me, confused. “I swear. I will get a gun and kill you right here on the spot if you don’t get out now.” I said murderously. “You seriously think you intimidate me? You’re just being immature. Go do your homework or whatever.” he said, and waves a hand dismissively. I felt my face heat up with hot anger. “You lost that responsibility to tell me that, when you moved to China or Japan, or wherever. You don’t live here. Mom already got remarried. You left, and I got a new father. Live with it. You can’t just---” I said before I was interrupted. “Yeah yeah, I know your mother got remarried after the divorce. I don’t know who this man is, but he’s gonna have get a beating for marring your mother.” He said.  I paled at the thought of him beating Collin.
“Get. Out. Or I call the cops that you are breaking and entering.” I demanded. He must’ve finally caught on because he got up and shook Collin’s weak hand. He had paled a lot as well. John (my biological dad) then finally left the room. I heard the front door slam and a car engine start. I sighed in relief and plopped down on the couch.
“Madi! Madison! I have to go! I'm really really sorry! My mom just called, and I have an appointment, and you know how she is!” Nikki came running and yelling to me. “It’s fine! I’ll see you tomorrow!’ I replied. “’kk! See you tomorrow!” she yelled as she ran out the door.
Collin looked at me, shocked. “You knew or still know my son. You too were very good friends. From what he has told me about you, you have never stood up like that. You were always the one to back down, no offense, and let others stand up instead.” He said to me. “I know. I have to let the shy part of me down sometimes though.” I replied. “Who is your son anyways? Nobody will tell me.” I asked him. He laughed. “That’s a surprise. Me and your mother decided we will let you too meet again soon, but not right away. Besides, I have to let him pack his things from his mom’s house.” He told me, with an air of mystery. I slightly laughed at that.
The rest of the night we went back and forth telling jokes and telling each other about our pasts. It felt good to let things out once in a while. And I knew I could trust Collin. I knew he would never tell anyone unless I was okay with it.
