The Last Diary Entry

Dear diary,

This will be my last entry as Patrick. By the time anyone finds this, I will be away from the harsh world I live in, away from that abusive asshole, away from this depressing city. It started two days ago.

The girl from the alley disappeared, leaving her cloak behind. It looked too nice to just lie in a puddle, so I just took it home with me. I had it drying out in a cupboard at one point, and found that I wasn't alone in the room. She was there, making her way towards the window. As she escaped from the cell I call home, she said "My gift's in the bed". You'll never guess what was in there: a kitchen knife. I had no idea what I was supposed to do with it, apart from cut vegetables with it.
The dinner went okay, and luckily I wasn't beaten. Unluckily, I was forced to be a servant for everyone. Having to do everything for a group of men who constantly pushed the limits of alcohol was certainly not on my list of all-time wishes.
The next day, I saw the dark-haired girl in the alley. She saw me as well. I opened the window and she instantly climbed up into my home. After half an hour, I learnt about her. Her name was Raven, she was in a relationship with someone called Ben and she travelled around helping kids who were abused by parents, like herself. She explained that she left the knife so that I could deal with things. Somehow, Raven knew I was a nervous guy. It was up to me to decide what to do.
I thought it over that night, and decided that after nearly a year of being beaten by a man who obviously had no interest in caring for me I would settle things once and for all. I grabbed Raven's knife from my drawer, crept silently into his room and put him to sleep. I was almost tempted to say 'Go to sleep', but I knew that it would mean I'm an insane killer like the famous Jeff.
I've just told Raven that I dealt with him. She says that she'll have to go home. Since I no longer want to live here, I've asked if I could come along. I've got about ten minutes to get things ready. I've got the knife, a plague doctor mask that my mum bought me before she died and am packing my laptop with me, along with some supplies.
If she's called Raven, then I'm no longer Patrick. I'm Crow, a silent killer.

Goodbye diary.
