Blessings

The Search

I left Lynx’s room for a short while to compose myself. I walk to the lobby and see Katt, I walk over and she sees med coming. “How’s Lynx?” she asks, “He is in medical care but I don’t know if he’ll get better,” I say gloomily.
“I want to go out again, I’m ready for the level five mission, where is it?” I demand.
“Someone tried to take it but I told them they couldn’t” she says seemingly frightened.
“Well who is this so called ‘brave’ person who took my quest?” I ask walking over to the board.
“A new recruit, his name is Ali he put it back though,” she says questioningly.
“If you say he put it back then, WHERE IS IT!!!” I punch the board where the paper should have been, almost breaking the board in half.
“I don’t… ALI!! He took it back, we need to find him before he knows what he’s getting himself into!” she says worried with a little excitement. Well that’s Katt for you I guess, always the overly happy one, I’m glad to have her though.
   We look all over for him to return, but nowhere is he to be seen. “We need to find him immediately,” I tell Katt.
“Ok but who knows, he might be gone forever,” she smiles as she says this. I smack her in the head and tell her like I always do to shut up.
“OUCH, that really hurt,” she rubs her head. “No time we need him, whoever he is,” I tell her.
   We split up going into every corridor we could find. Katt searches the living quarters and the training rooms, while I search in the cafeteria, gymnasium, and the library. I search the library first and as I enter the door I only see one person. A person I haven’t seen before in the manga section, he was tall with blonde hair and pretty good build. I paid no attention to him though, I was in a hurry. I jumped over isles of books when I only came to the exit. The next place I looked was the Gym, nobody but the teacher weight lifting,”Hey Joe,” I call to him. Then the cafeteria, man I was hungry, it has been forever since I last ate so I get in line for food and again I see this strange boy. I sit at the table across from him sizing him up. He notices me and asks if I have a problem.
All I ask is, “What is your name ‘Newbie’,” I say in a smart remark. “My name is Ali, but if you have a problem…,” I interrupted him.
“If you want to take on an elite quest you will have to take it up with the guild master.” I say to him. “And I’m guessing that would be you?” He thinks that he is correct. “No, Katt here is, she is the one who built this monument and runs the office when I’m away so, she is the leader you speak to”. I correct his mistake as I watch his jaw drop open.
“I thought she was just a tour guide,” He states stupidly. “Now until then, you can just put that piece of paper back on the board,” I say with fire in my eyes. As I leave the table I notice that the table was completely frozen and everyone was staring. “Eat your damn food already, it’s spilling out your mouth,” I’m irritated now. Out of the corner of my eye and see Katt staring blankly at me with a frown which never happens. I realize something is wrong, I walk over to her and all she has to say is one word,”Lynx”.
