The AwakeningHot. I am very hot and--- sandy? My back suddenly felt like it was on fire. I tried to roll over but I couldn't. Panic started to boil through me but all I could do is moan pathetically. "Are you waking up?" echoed distantly off. I groaned trying to lift myself to the voice but I couldn't move. Anything. Softly something strong hooked underneath my arms. They hauled me up then leaned me against a soft and warm thing. It must have been a body; i could feel the rapid heartbeat and raspy breath lifting me up and down. I didn't waste any time, I tried desperately to move. "Relax." the voice said soothingly but firmly. "First just try opening your eyes." I cracked my eyelids open but then slammed them down as the sun was clearly sitting next to me. I felt two things slip over my face and behind my eyelids I could see the world get darker. "Okay try now." Slowly and cautiously I let my eyes slip open. I groaned again to signal they were open. After what felt like an hour, the person had slowly peeled away all of their fingers to reveal a beach. As soon as i saw where i was every nerve in my body exploded allowing me to move and scream and cry. After a few minutes I plugged my right hand in my mouth so I would stop. I looked down at myself and jammed my hand in harder. My legs had horrible gashes, cuts, and scrapes with a little burn on top. My left ankle was swollen and bruised awfully and when I tried to move it, I couldn't. Actually my entire left side painted black, blue, and purple but when I saw my hand I almost passed out again; it was twice as big as the other hand and all red.
"What happened?" I croaked.
"Well I'm not quite sure myself, but what I do know is that we were on a ship and it wrecked. And we're lucky to have survived cause out there are tons of sharp jagged rocks."
I shrugged mildly depressed "And let me guess. We're on some crazy deserted island no one's ever gonna find us on." it was his turn to shrug. I looked around for something, anything when my eyes hit 3 other bodies. "Are they---"
He cut me off "Alive? yes. But I don't know if the'll wake up." he said quietly.
"Did you find any others?" I said almost inaudibly.
"Oh..." I didn't have anyone with me, did I? I looked at the 3 bodies lying almost lifeless before me. I didn't recognize any of them. I turned to him again "What's your name?"
"Cassi. Can you help stand me up so I can see where we are?" He stared at me like I was crazy. "Please? I can handle it."
"Fine but it's not gonna feel good." He said standing to help me. he hooked his hands under my arms again. I nodded confidently to tell him to pick me up. He lifted me and put me on my feet. I bit my tongue to keep a yelp from squeezing out of me. I whipped out my hand to grab his shoulder to steady myself. After most of my balance was regained I looked up and my jaw went down.
