A Bright Light

Turning the corner

Screams of excitement, joined by clatters, filled around the room as the maniac class rushed through the door while Bethany and Amelia chattered their way to the school canteen.
while along the corridor, the fire alarm suddenly started ringing unexpectedly then they turned the corner in a hurry, when a blast of heat beamed into their frightened faces and a bright flaming light of orange blinded their eyes.
"Its a fire!" announced Amelia in terror.
"Get down, we need to find a fire extinguisher" panicked Bethany, looking around,
"But where? Its blocked off and we are stuck here." Amelia was now worrying, looking all over the place. "Beth, what do we do?" There was no answer. "Beth. Beth...Beth?"
Bethany was on the floor as though she had passed out, as indeed she had which led Amelia to being on her own inside a burning building...
