A New Day
Sandra, Kaycee, and Lauran stayed most of Sunday. We had a long conversation on standing up for ourselves, so we were ready for Monday.I woke up with enthusiasm for the first time in a long time. Today, I was a new person, but it was the true me not the hidden me. I put on a long sleeved plain gray tee-shirt with a heavy infinity scarf that was white. I had to put on layers though. Then I put on some lip gloss, pink eye shadow, and mascara just enough to where you could barley see it on me.
"Wow, taking on your old look from California. Aren't we?" my mother said while I ate my cereal. I nodded my head with my face facing down at my bowl, "That's great, Amanda. Well, I have to go to work now. I'll see you later, 'Manda"
"See you later, mom." I responded. I finished my cereal, packed up some stuff for school, and headed out. Sandra was just walking up to my yard as I walked out the door. She looked different, too. She had blue skinny jeans on and instead of a plain shirt, she had a tee-shirt on from a Three Days Grace concert she went to over winter break, or at least that's what she told me she was wearing. I couldn't see the shirt because of her jackets, but I knew that she didn't wear that tee-shirt till today because she told me on the way to school that she didn't want people laugh at her for her taste in music. Why do I find that ridiculous? Lauran and Kaycee didn't have any change in style, but they became awfully chatty.
The day we became true images.
